PM pays tributes to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has paid tributes to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary. On this occasion, he has shared some interesting nuggets from the pages of history consisting a letter from Dr. Lohia to Lord Linlithgow and correspondence between Dr. Lohia’s father and him.

In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said;

"Remembering Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary. He was at the forefront of many historical events and played a key role in our freedom struggle. He is widely respected for his principled politics and intellectual prowess."

"Some interesting nuggets from the pages of history…a letter from Dr. Lohia to Lord Linlithgow and correspondence between Dr. Lohia’s father and him."

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam highlighting that wisdom teaches the art of living in harmony with society. He said that knowledge imparts wisdom and prosperity, fills the heart with joy and enhances one’s dignity.

The Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam-

“उपदिशति लोकवृत्तं वितरति वित्तं विनोदयति चित्तम्।

उत्तम्भयति महत्त्वं विद्या हृद्या सुराजसेवेव॥”

The Subhashitam conveys that wisdom teaches the art of living in harmony with society. It grants knowledge and prosperity, fills the heart with joy, and raises one's dignity. Thus, wisdom is as precious as service to righteous governance, beloved by the heart, and a force that uplifts life.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;
