Narendra Modi called up for a meeting with the MPs of Gujarat to discuss 53 pending issues on Gujarat's development in the Parliament. Since the new government has been formed in the parliament and an atmosphere of fulfilling people's expectation is created Narendra Modi expected that MPs of Gujarat will play a key role in letting Gujarat its due. The meeting was attended by all the newly elected MPs from Gujarat and the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Shri Arun Jately and the Chief Secretary Shri A K Joyti.

The main purpose behind the meeting was to form an effective strategy to present the pending issues in parliament. MPs of both the parties were invited however the MPs of the congress party did not turn up.

Narendra Modi congratulated the newly elected MPs of 15th lok sabha election and BJP party's opposition leader of Rajya Sabha Shri Arun Jately. He expected that all the MPs will raise a firm voice to get Gujarat its due and help in getting Gujarat many other new benefits that will increase the pace of its development.

Almost 25 pending issues were discussed through an effective video presentation that can be presented to all the different department of the parliament. In this presentation note of 53 pending issues that can be sorted out was discussed. The focus of the meeting was to cover the issues of financial matters, new projects strengthening Gujarat's tourism, special scheme of education for the disabled students, providing electricity of 210 mega watts from the cabinet's electricity department that was withheld by the ruling government in the year 2006 and the only 55 mega watts electricity was given to Gujarat. A claim over the remaining 155 mega watts of electricity was discussed. Gujarat's Sindhu basin's Indus water treaty proposal, the approval for the special scheme of 579.22 crores for Gujarat safety road proposal and other important pending issues were discussed.

As the outcome of the meeting all the MPs and the leader of opposition Arun jately and the Chief Secretary A. k Jyoti affirmed that they would do their best to get Gujarat its due.
