Gandhinagar, Wednesday: Cabinet meeting held under leadership of Chief Minister Narendra Modi today extend full support and sympathy towards the pilgrims and people of Uttarakhand who are the victims of heavy flood and excessive rain. Cabinet passed special resolution expressing sorrow towards the people who have lost their lives in natural calamity and pay tribute with two minute silence. State Natural Disaster Department is in continuous touch with the Uttrakhand administration to provide necessary help.

StatGovernment spokesman Mr. Nitin Patel and Energy Minister Mr. Saurabh Patel said that "The Chief Minister Narendra Modi today discussed about rescue and relief operations during natural calamity with the Uttarakhand CM Vijay Bahuguna on telephone. Mr. Modi assured Mr. Bahuguna of any help required in dealing with the worrisome flood situation in the hill state and also asked about the people from Gujarat who have been affected by the floods."

Chief Minister Narendra Modi announced that the state government has released immediate assistance of Rs. 2 crore from Chief Minister Relief Fund to help the victims. With a view to help Gujarati pilgrims and bring them back to home, state official team will be sent to the Uttarakhand, Patel said.

Mr. Nitin Patel and Mr. Saurabh Patel said that the state government is trying to run special train to bring back Gujarati victims. Details of Gujarati tourist in Uttarakhand is being collected by each district collector. Relief commissioner of the state government is also in continuous touch with the various travel agencies. The state government has already started helpline for the inquiry of pilgrims and No is - 079 23251902.

Prime Minister expresses grief over mishap in Coimbatore

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has expressed deep anguish over the mishap in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Shri Modi said that he is distressed to hear about the incident and extended his heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the mishap.
