Continuing his campaigning to ensure consistent development in Gujarat, PM Modi today addressed public meetings in Palitana, Anjar & Jamnagar, Gujarat. In his first rally of the day, PM Modi said that the region of Saurashtra embodies the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. In his second address at Anjar, PM Modi talked about Kutch’s recovery from the earthquake in 2001. In his last two public meetings for the day, PM Modi talked about the economy and the manufacturing sector of Gujarat.

Highlights from the Palitana Public Meeting

Slamming the opposition, PM Modi called out the Congress for dividing Gujarat countlessly and its failure to stop terror running rampant in the state during their rule. PM Modi further added, “Illiteracy, malnutrition, these had become the misfortune of the villages of Gujarat”. Exemplifying the stark difference between the BJP and the Congress, PM Modi said, “But when Gujarat trusted the BJP, things started changing. BJP made safe Gujarat its priority. We created an environment in every village and city of harmony.

PM Modi iterated on the development that has happened in Gujarat under the BJP, PM Modi talked about how Gujarat came over its water problems and provided electricity to all villages of Gujarat. PM Modi further added on the work undertaken by the BJP government to develop tourism in the state and said, “BJP has done the work of making Gujarat a big tourism destination of the country”.

PM Modi finally addressed the people on how Common Service Centers have changed the face of villages in Gujarat. PM Modi said that these centres have enabled people in the villages to avail government schemes and also created employment for the youth in these regions.

Highlights from the Anjar Public Meeting

PM Modi came down heavily on the Congress for colluding with those who opposed the delivery of water to Kutch. PM Modi said, “The Congress has always been encouraging those who opposed the Sardar Sarovar Dam. The people of Kutch can never forget such a party, which created hurdles for the people of Kutch.” PM Modi further talked about how the Kutch Branch Canal is changing lives, PM Modi said, “The hard work of the BJP government is paying off for Kutch. Today many agricultural products are exported from Kutch”.

Talking extensively about the opportunities for tourism in Kutch, PM Modi said, “There are so many possibilities of tourism in Kutch that even several days fall short to come here.” PM Modi also spoke on the work done by the BJP government to develop tourism in the Kutch area. Talking about Gujarat being a border state, PM Modi said, “Under the Vibrant Village Scheme, modern facilities will be provided in the villages adjacent to the border, and they will be developed in terms of tourism”. He further added that the BJP does not consider border areas or border villages as the last village of the country but as the first village.

PM Modi finally addressed the people on the industrial development in the Kutch area, PM Modi said the industrial sector is flourishing due to improved connectivity from good roads, wide highways and airports. PM Modi also talked about the role of Kutch in hosting the biggest Renewable Energy Hybrid Park and how it will generate thousands of jobs.

Highlights from the Jamnagar Public Meeting

Addressing his third public meeting of the day, The Prime Minister said, “It is equally important for a developed India to be a self-reliant India. And that's why Gujarat's industries, MSMEs-small scale industries have a huge role to play. Jamnagar's brass industry and bandhani art have received a lot of support over the years. Today, Jamnagar produces everything from pins to aeroplane parts”.

Talking about the National Education Policy in Jamnagar, PM Modi asserted, “In the new National Education Policy, training related to coding and other tasks has been made necessary in small classes. For the first time, the study of sports has also been given the same importance as other subjects. In the new NEP, emphasis has also been laid on education in the mother tongue”.

Training his guns at Congress, Prime Minister Modi accused the party of being well-wishers of terrorists and slammed the party for its appeasement politics. He said, “Ever since the BJP government came to the power at the centre, the country is following the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism and Naxalism. But remember, these people are looking for an opportunity, but neither Gujarat will give them a chance, nor the country will give them a chance”.

Highlights from the Rajkot Public Meeting

PM Modi, in his last rally of the day, addressed the people of Rajkot on how the upcoming elections are being led by the people of Gujarat themselves rather than the leadership of the BJP party. PM Modi talked about how Gujarat’s development is the result of years of hard work and sacrifices made by the people of Gujarat and thus, cannot be understood by the people outside of Gujarat.

Slamming the opposition, PM Modi targeted the UPA-led rule of 10 years since 2004. PM Modi said that from 2004 to 2014, the Indian economy jumped only one place from 11 to 10 as one of the biggest economies of the world, whereas from 2014 to the present day, the economy has now jumped 5 places to become the 5th largest in the world. PM Modi further added, “There was a time when cycles used to be manufactured here in Gujarat, but today, the state is moving towards manufacturing an entire aeroplane”.

PM Modi finally addressed the people on how Congress’s politics restricted the benefits of the government schemes to a few people only and the poor were left to fend for themselves. PM Modi further said that since 2014 almost 9 crore fake beneficiaries have been removed from various government schemes. PM Modi also gave examples of how because the BJP trusts the people, the people also trust the BJP as well.
