PM Modi addressed two huge rallies in West Bengal’s Asansol and Gangarampur ahead of sixth phase of assembly polls today. He said, “TMC was broken after four phases of polls, `Didi' and `Bhatija' will be defeated by end of West Bengal elections. Voting of the fifth phase is also going on where people in large numbers are voting for the lotus flower to form the BJP government.”

“This region of Asansol has the potential to become the industrial centre of India since a long time. From bicycle to rail, from paper to steel, from aluminium to glass - people come from all across India to work in these factories. In a way, Asansol is mini India. People from all corners of India are seen here. But the misgovernance of Bengal governments affected Asansol,” said PM Modi while addressing the public meeting.

Speaking on Mamata Didi’s anti-development agenda, PM Modi stated, “Mamata Banerjee is against development of Bengal. We will work for the aspirations of the people of Bengal. New investment will come in. Bengal needs a government of double engines, not those who are stopping development. The BJP government of Bengal will implement every scheme that benefits you, which was stopped by Didi's government.”

Coming down hard at TMC supremo, the PM asserted, “Her politics is not limited to just protests, but it has crossed a dangerous limit of vengeance.” The Prime Minister also slammed Banerjee for skipping several meetings called by the Centre to discuss many key issues. He said, “In the last two meetings on Corona, the rest of the Chief Ministers came, but Didi did not. The rest of the Chief Ministers came to the Governing Council of NITI Aayog, but Didi did not. Such a huge campaign started in the country to clean river Ganga, but Didi did not even attend the meeting related to it.”

Prime Minister Modi while addressing a rally in Asansol said that on May 2, which is the day of assembly election results, Mamata Banerjee will be given the certificate of Bengal ex-chief minister by the people of the state.

Taking about the leaked audio of Mamata Banerjee, the Prime Minister remarked, “You must have heard an audio tape on what happened in Cooch Behar yesterday. The audio was of Didi doing politics after the tragic death of 5 people. In this audio, the TMC leader of Cooch Behar was being asked by Didi to organize a rally with the dead bodies of the slain.”

Addressing his second rally of the day in Gangarampur, PM Modi said, “Gangarampur has 2 holy names, that define our culture, in its own name... But it seems Didi hates names of both Lord Ram and river Ganga. She abuses Indians living in areas near river Ganga. She insults their beliefs, food, language & clothes.”

Attacking Mamata Banerjee for her mis-governance, he said, “Appeasement does not lead to better roads, schools-colleges, industry, employment and more. The dilapidated roads in this region, the lack of hospitals and lack of irrigational facilities is proof enough. In the last 10 years, Didi's government has only promoted locking up of industries and people leaving Bengal for other opportunities. She has only concentrated on betterment of her nephew and filling her own coffers.”

In Gangarampur, PM Modi said that he always addressed her as 'didi' but she abused me from public platforms. “I have no problem with Didi's abuses. Didi, curse me as much as you want, but at least don't forget the culture of Bengal. The people of the country take pride in the rich heritage of Bengal, the eloquence of its people.”

Slamming Didi for nepotism, the Prime Minister reiterated, “TMC government has suppressed the aspirations of every young son and daughter of West Bengal. She, for the career of her nephew has put future of millions of Bengal's youth at stake.”

“BJP's double engine government is making all efforts to make the region an international trading hub, to strengthen the rich heritage of this place, all sort of tourism potential will be harnessed. Maa Ganga has blessed the BJP everywhere in her vast aanchal. After May 2, West Bengal is also going to be added to it,” PM Modi said while concluding his rally in Gangarampur.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Kerala on 23rd January, 2026. At around 10:45 AM, Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate and flag off various developmental projects in Thiruvananthapuram. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.

The projects span key sectors including rail connectivity, urban livelihoods, science and innovation, citizen-centric services, and advanced healthcare, reflecting Prime Minister’s continued focus on inclusive growth, technological advancement and improved quality of life for citizens.

In a major boost to rail connectivity, Prime Minister will flag off four new train services, including three Amrit Bharat Express trains and one passenger train. These include the Nagercoil-Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express, Thiruvananthapuram-Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express, Thiruvananthapuram-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, and a new passenger train between Thrissur and Guruvayur. The introduction of these services will significantly enhance long-distance and regional connectivity between Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, making travel more affordable, safe and time-bound for passengers. The improved connectivity will provide a strong impetus to tourism, trade, education, employment and cultural exchange across the region.

As part of efforts to strengthen urban livelihood, Prime Minister will launch the PM SVANidhi Credit Card, marking the next phase of financial inclusion for street vendors. The UPI-linked, interest-free revolving credit facility will provide instant liquidity, promote digital transactions, and help beneficiaries build formal credit histories. Prime Minister will also disburse PM SVANidhi loans to one lakh beneficiaries, including street vendors from Kerala. Since its inception in 2020, PM SVANidhi scheme has enabled first-time access to formal credit for a large majority of beneficiaries and has played a critical role in poverty alleviation and livelihood security among urban informal workers.

In the field of science and innovation, Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the CSIR-NIIST Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Hub in Thiruvananthapuram. The hub will focus on life sciences and the bio-economy, integrate traditional knowledge systems such as Ayurveda with modern biotechnology, sustainable packaging, and green hydrogen, and promote startup creation, technology transfer, and global collaboration. It will serve as a platform for converting research into market-ready solutions and enterprises.

Strengthening healthcare infrastructure will be another key focus of the visit. Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Radiosurgery Centre at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram. The facility will provide highly precise, minimally invasive treatment for complex brain disorders, enhancing regional tertiary healthcare capabilities.

Prime Minister will also inaugurate the new Poojappura Head Post Office in Thiruvananthapuram. This modern, technology-enabled facility will offer a comprehensive range of postal, banking, insurance and digital services, further strengthening citizen-centric service delivery.
