India is not complete without Kashmiriyat: PM Modi

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today announced a development package of eighty thousand crore rupees for the State of Jammu and Kashmir. In his address at the Sher-e-Kashmir stadium in Srinagar, Shri Narendra Modi recalled former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee's message of Kashmiriyat, Jamhooriyat, Insaniyat.

"India is not complete without Kashmiriyat," the Prime Minister said, mentioning the Sufi tradition of India.

He praised the people of the state for reposing their faith in Jamhooriyat (democracy) and said that the progress of Jammu and Kashmir had to be based on Insaniyat.

The Prime Minister said his Government worked for "Sabka saath, sabka vikas," and therefore, it was essential for development to reach all parts of the country. He said the State of Jammu and Kashmir should return once again to the days when people from all parts of India saved money to visit the State. He said that besides tourism, attention was being given to sectors such as Pashmina, and Saffron.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the 450 MW Baglihar Hydro Electric Project Stage-II; and laid the Foundation Stone of 4-laning of Udhampur-Ramban and Ramban-Banihal section of National Highway 44 at Chanderkote, Ramban.

He spoke of the initiatives of the Union Government in renewable energy generation, and the ambitious target of 175 GW of renewable energy. He said this was the best way to combat the global issue of climate change.

The Prime Minister said the Rs. 80,000 crore package for Jammu and Kashmir, which he announced in Srinagar, would give new strength to the State, and generate employment for youth.

June 17, 2026

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, said that affectionate respect and acceptance make an individual feel valued, proud and satisfied. He noted that such recognition not only enhances self-confidence but also infuses a person with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

The Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam-

“त्वत्सम्भावितमात्मानं बहु मन्यामहे वयम्‌ ।

प्रायः प्रत्ययमाधत्ते स्वगुणेषूत्तमादरः।। ”

The Subhashitam conveys that we feel extremely proud and blessed to be accepted with respect by any person, because it is absolutely true that respect given by great men strongly awakens self-confidence in a person about his own qualities.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

“स्नेहपूर्ण सम्मान और स्वीकार्यता व्यक्ति को गर्व और संतोष का अनुभव कराती है। इससे जहां आत्मविश्वास बढ़ता है, वहीं एक नई ऊर्जा और उत्साह का भी संचार होता है।

त्वत्सम्भावितमात्मानं बहु मन्यामहे वयम्‌ ।

प्रायः प्रत्ययमाधत्ते स्वगुणेषूत्तमादरः।।”
