Today, India has a Government that has the courage to take bold decisions: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a public meeting in Panaji, Goa. The Prime Minister said that last five years had been the years of development for the state. He added that despite its small territory, Goa stood out for its development in various sectors.

Shri Narendra Modi spoke about the political instability that Goa faced in the 1990s and the early 2000s. “Political instability in Goa hampered its progress. Instability was something the Congress really liked. It suited them. Five years ago the people of Goa elected a stable Government under BJP.” He urged people of the state to once again repose faith in the BJP and elect a Government with a comfortable majority.

Prime Minister assured Centre’s complete assistance in Goa’s progress and development. He said, “The state Government has created right infrastructure for tourism and the Centre's efforts have made it easier for tourism to grow.” The Prime Minister said that Goa deserved everything that was iconic. “We have to develop infrastructure that is the best. We want the state to attract maximum tourists and ensure maximum economic opportunities to the people here”, Shri Modi added further.

The PM remarked that some people were aware of their nearing defeat and hence, they were creating an atmosphere to blame everyone except for themselves. Adding furthermore, Shri Modi said, “There are a few people who are blaming even the Election Commission. We have to respect institutions.”

Attacking the Congress party, Shri Modi said that people of Goa were well aware of their corruption and mis-governance. He remarked, “We can have differences of opinion but that does not mean we need to deviate from the core issue of India's development.”

Appealing to the people of Goa to elect a BJP Government in the upcoming elections, the Prime Minister said, “Today, India has a Government that has the courage to take bold decisions and the world has also recognised that.”

Defence Minister, Shri Manohar Parrikar, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping, Shri Nitin Gadkari and several party workers attended the event.
