Prime Minister Narendra Modi today; addressed public meetings in Chambi & Sujanpur, Himachal Pradesh. PM Modi started his first address at Chambi by highlighting that Himachal, today, is in an important stage of development and, thus, it needs a stable and strong government.

Hitting out at the opposition for promoting instability and becoming a roadblock to development, PM Modi said, “Congress can never give a stable government to Himachal… Congress is a guarantee of instability. Congress is guaranteed to stop development works”.

Highlighting the stark differences between the BJP and the Congress, PM Modi said that BJP has made the development of the nation its top priority in politics. PM Modi further added that the people of India, today, are voting for the BJP to return to power in many states whilst doing away with an anti-incumbency mindset. PM Modi gave examples of how states like Gujarat, Goa, Uttarakhand and UP have been voting for the BJP to increase the pace of development in the state.

PM Modi also talked about how the Congress is being rejected by the people due to their familism and vote bank politics. PM Modi gave examples of states that have been rejecting Congress as a choice for leadership. PM Modi further said, “The basis of Congress is still familism. Such a Congress party can never fulfil the expectations and aspirations of the people of Himachal”

Talking about the progress made under the double-engine government of the BJP, PM Modi highlighted the progress made under various schemes, especially focusing on the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and said, “From 2014 to 2017, only 15 pucca houses were built here.
After the formation of the BJP government in 2017, the houses of 10 thousand poor were approved and 8 thousand houses have been completed”

PM Modi reiterated his commitment towards the people of Himachal and highlighted that the Congress-led government only paid 60 paise to one rupee for development work and the remainder was borne by the people of Himachal. In stark contrast, the BJP-led government now pays 90 paise to a rupee for development work.

Talking about the development of educational avenues in Himachal, PM Modi said, “Himachal has 2 state universities, one central university, a technical university, a hydroelectric college, IIITs, facilities are expanding in IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, new medical colleges. Many such institutions which were once a dream of Himachal have become a reality today.”

PM Modi finally addressed the people about the unprecedented support the BJP-led government is providing to the women and the girl child in the country at every stage of their lives. PM Modi talked about several developmental schemes such as - Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Ujjwala Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission and Mudra Yojana, that are supporting women in every aspect of their lives.

PM Modi started his second address at Sujanpur by highlighting the time he had spent with the people of Himachal as a ‘karyakarta’ and told people about his life during those days.

PM Modi slammed the Congress for not delivering basic needs to the people of Himachal for decades. PM Modi further said that Congress still believes that the people of Himachal will vote for them as they believe in the formula of an alternative government every 5 years. PM Modi reiterated that the Congress has been on a sharp decline and is being rejected by the majority of states as Congress considers itself bigger than anything.

PM Modi called out the fallacies of the Congress-led government in their inability to provide appropriate gear to the armed forces and deprived the villages near the border areas of infrastructure of any kind. Highlighting the stark contrast, PM Modi said that his government not only implemented One Rank One Pension but also cleared its arrears with due respect to the soldiers.

PM Modi finally addressed the public on how Congress had become a roadblock for the development between 2014 to 2017. PM Modi said, “It is the BJP which can take Himachal to new heights of development. Therefore, this time the return of the BJP government in Himachal is necessary.”
