Ahmedabad, Thursday: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Narendra Modi bid warm farewell to Mr. Justice D.H. Waghela of Gujarat High Court on his elevation as Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court at a function here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Modi said that Gujarat is proud of Mr. Justice Waghela, who has risen from an ordinary Gujarati family to the august post with his multifaceted personality through sheer grit and determination. He is a source of inspiration for common man. He is known for fighting the cases as a lawyer for labour welfare, and for impartial judgments as a judge.

Replying to the felicitations, Mr. Justice Waghela said that he succeeded in his pursuits and life from the love he received from his family and the society. He expressed his commitment to uphold the high traditions of judiciary and human values.

Gujarat Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Vajubhai Vala, Parliamentary Affairs and Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma and Minister of State for Pradipsinh Jadeja, were present at the function.

Prominent among others present on the occasion included Ministers Nitinbhai Patel, Anandiben Patel, Ramanlal Vora, Babubhai Bokhiria, Saurabh Patel, Ganpat Vasava, Vasuben Trivedi, Rajnikant Patel, senior officers of in the judicial service, judges of various tribunals, Gujarat Government’s Chief Secretary Dr. Varesh Sinha, Chief Minister’s Additional Principal Secretary G.C.Murmu, Principal Secretary and Secretaries of different departments and Judges of Gujarat High Court.
