Addressing the first ever India International Bullion Summit organized by the Bombay Bullion Association through video conferencing, Shri Narendra Modi inspired the audience to raise the voice for the interests of the goldsmiths and raise their voice against smuggling. He stated that our goldsmiths should not suffer from unemployment and called for the bullion market and association to start skill development initiatives to train young goldsmiths and children of goldsmiths. Modi ji affirmed that we all must work together to make our nation the ‘Sone Ki Chidiya’ once again. He even called for exploring the opportunities in exporting handmade jewelry, which can help boost exports.

Shri Modi talked at length about the importance of gold in the lives of the people of India. “Gold is deeply associated with our lives. The 50th anniversary is called a golden jubilee and we call our good period a golden period. It is in the mind of every person that with gold comes a sense of security and a sense of respect. On important occasions we exchange gold.” He also went on to say that gold is very popular among the rural areas where banking facilities are not very advanced making people buy gold.

Shri Modi avowed that while making policies about gold, the considerations cannot only be economic but also must ensure that the common people must not feel disconnected with it. Shri Modi also shared that even a report of the RBI noted that buying gold was not simply a matter of economics but also about the mind of the people. If the Government thinks that by imposing duty the buying of gold will reduce they are wrong and even the RBI said it, Shri Modi said.

He also came down heavily on the Centre for their weak excuse on price rise and rupee falling. Shri Modi pointed, “What has happened to the Centre I do not understand. They said Rupee is falling due to imports so they said shut petrol pumps at night. For rising prices what kind of excuses they make- the north is consuming rice, the south is consuming wheat!”

Narendra Modi ji also spoke against the drawbacks of central control in this sphere under the previous regimes from the time of 1947 till 1990s. He also said that due to the Gold Control Act the skills of our goldsmiths took a beating, which is unfortunate and further said that the biggest loss for a nation is when it loses its skills. Shri Modi recalled that due to these policies gold smuggling became a very big thing, gangs emerged and anti-social elements rose. “Nobody knew that the gold control act would have such an effect on society,” he noted.

Shri Modi assured the organizers of the conference and the BBA and other people gathered that he fully understands their problems.

The audience gave a standing ovation to Shri Modi both before and after his speech.

PM Modi ignites Dum Dum with fiery address

TMC is an anti-women party. The BJP works on a women-led development model: PM Modi in Dum Dum
On 4 May, after the results are declared, TMC goons will have no place to hide. No one will be able to protect them: PM Modi
The Ayushman Yojana is not active in Bengal. When the BJP forms the government, people will receive free treatment of up to ₹5 lakh: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a massive public gathering in Dum Dum, West Bengal, delivering a high-energy speech that resonated strongly with the people of Bengal. He congratulated the citizens for the visible wave of change and asserted that the first phase of polling had already signaled a decisive shift in the state’s political landscape.

Opening his remarks, the PM said, “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the people of Bengal. The wave of change that had been building for a long time has now been stamped by the first phase of voting. The support seen for BJP has sounded the bugle of victory.”

He sharply criticized the ruling party, stating that democracy had been undermined in the state. “In the Bengal where TMC crushed the temple of democracy and weakened it with authoritarianism, the people have begun rebuilding that temple through their vote. Now, in the next phase, you must hoist the flag of victory on it,” he said.

Highlighting the public mood, PM Modi remarked that there was a growing call for change across the state. “Today, one voice echoes across Bengal - ‘Poriborton dorkar, chai BJP shorkar!’” he declared, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.

Invoking the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, he framed the election as a new movement for freedom from multiple challenges. “This is a moment of a new revolution in Bengal. With your single vote, we will secure freedom- freedom from fear, corruption, syndicates, atrocities on women, forced migration, unemployment and infiltration,” he added.

The PM also focused extensively on women’s empowerment and safety. “I have come here to assure every daughter of Bengal, BJP will not let your dreams be crushed. After May 4, every case of injustice will be opened. This is Modi’s guarantee,” he asserted.

Contrasting governance models, he reiterated, “TMC is anti-women, while BJP believes in women-led development. We are committed to providing safety, dignity and prosperity to every woman.” He outlined welfare measures including direct financial support, housing assistance, healthcare under Ayushman Bharat and schemes aimed at economic empowerment.

Addressing the middle class, PM Modi emphasized tax relief, affordable digital access and housing benefits. He noted that policy changes over the past decade had reduced financial burdens and improved quality of life. He urged voters to bring a ‘double-engine government’ to Bengal for accelerated development.

PM Modi also criticized the alleged ‘syndicate raj’ and lack of industrial growth under the current government. “Factories are shutting down, youth are migrating and opportunities are shrinking. This must change,” he said, urging people to vote for a government that prioritizes jobs and infrastructure.

Speaking specifically about Dum Dum, he highlighted civic issues such as outdated drainage systems, waterlogging and traffic congestion. “We do not want a makeshift Dum Dum; we want an engineered, modern Dum Dum. Only BJP can deliver that with a vision for the future,” he said.

Concluding his speech, PM Modi called upon voters to ensure BJP’s victory in the upcoming phase. “You must send BJP candidates to the assembly and form a BJP government here. When PM and CM work together, development will happen day and night,” he said, ending on a note of strong optimism and determination.
