Chief Minister Narendra Modi today announced to set up a world-class maritime park on the seacoast of Bharuch district.

Chief Minister said this while inaugurating a manufacturing plant of a Denmark based company Roxul Rockwool at the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Dahej in Bharuch. Rs.159-crore plant will manufacture fire-safe insulation material - Stone Wool, which is used in the construction sector.

Chief Minister said the future economy will depend greatly on the business on the sea-route. “Gujarat is positioned very well with its 1600-km long coastline and the State government wants to take advantage of it by developing ship-building and ship-repairing industries around it”, he said.

Chief Minister exuded faith that maritime park in Bharuch will become instrumental in giving training of ship-building to the youths and thus to provide them employment.

Mentioning that the SEZ at Dahej has been selected as on of the best 25 SEZ in the world he said that it is the testimony that the world has recognized the efficiency and growth oriented policy making process of the state government. Factors like transparent administration, vibrant economy, zero man-hour loss, best infrastructure and farsighted planning in Gujarat has paid off, he said.

Along with the industrial development, Chief Minister said, the state government is also putting emphasize on the ‘Green' technology for the cleanliness of environment. State government will be making a solar sea-water desalination plant to provide water for the industrial use while world's biggest solar energy park will also take place in Gujarat, he said.

Mentioning that Navsari Agricultural University has made successful research to make paper and fabric out of trunk and fiber waste of Plantain tree, he said the research will open up new sector of making fabric and paper out of Plantain tree and will also give financial benefits to farmers.

Denmark Ambassador Mr.Freddy Swane while praising the competent governance of the state government said that Denmark is keen to partner Gujarat to develop mutually beneficial sectors.

Chairman of Rockwool group Mr.Peter Hoedemaker and Group CEO Mr.Eelco Van Heel gave details of their eco-friendly manufacturing unit at Dahej.

Minister of State Ishwarsinh Patel, MPs Bharatsinh Parmar, MLAs and industrialists along with other invitees were present on the occasion.

PM Narendra Modi chaired a high level meeting to review the availability & supply of oxygen & medicines.

PM was briefed that the Government is actively monitoring the supply of drugs being used in the management of Covid as well Mucormycosis. The Minister updated PM that they are in regular touch with the manufacturers to enhance production & extend all kind of help needed. PM was also informed about the current production & stock of APIs for each such drug. It was discussed that states are being provided medicines in good quantities. PM was also apprised that the production of all drugs including Remdesivir have been ramped up significantly in the last few weeks. PM said that India has a very vibrant Pharma sector and Government’s continued close coordination with them will ensure proper availability of all medicines.

PM also took stock of the situation on oxygen availability and supply in the country. It was discussed that the supply of oxygen is now more than 3 times the supply during the peak of first wave. PM was briefed about the operations of oxygen rail and sorties by IAF planes. PM was also informed about the status of procurement of Oxygen concentrators, oxygen cylinders as well as the status of PSA plants being installed across the country.

PM also remarked that states should be asked to operationalize ventilators in a time-bound manner and resolve technical & training issues with the help of the manufacturers.
