The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has congratulated weightlifter Mirabai Chanu on winning Gold Medal at Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said;

"The exceptional @mirabai_chanu makes India proud once again! Every Indian is delighted that she’s won a Gold and set a new Commonwealth record at the Birmingham Games. Her success inspires several Indians, especially budding athletes."

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam emphasizing the transformative role of self-confidence in realizing the vision of a developed India.

In a post on X, he wrote:

"आत्मविश्वास वह शक्ति है, जिसके बल पर सब कुछ संभव है। विकसित भारत के सपने को साकार करने में देशवासियों की यही शक्ति बहुत काम आने वाली है।

श्रीर्मङ्गलात् प्रभवति प्रागल्भ्यात् सम्प्रवर्धते।

दाक्ष्यात् तु कुरुते मूलं संयमात् प्रतितिष्ठति॥ "
