The NDA’s Prime Ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi addressed a massive public meeting in Delhi’s Ambedkar Nagar. This was Shri Modi’s final campaign rally for the 2013 Delhi Vidhan Sabha Elections. Shri Modi continued making a strong pitch for electing the BJP and its alliance partner Akali Dal to power in Delhi in the forthcoming Assembly Elections. He affirmed that the common people are extremely disappointed with the Congress and want to punish it. He added that in order to understand the true woes of the people, it is essential to understand the true nature and working of the Congress Party.

Shri Modi said that the Congress thinks the people are in the party’s pocket and that gives them the opportunity to do anything they feel like. He questioned the Congress’ silence on corruption, saying that the party has accepted it as a part of its life. He talked about the CWG scam as well. Shri Modi criticized the Congress, saying that due to them people of Delhi are being made to live in unauthorized colonies. He brought out the false promise of providing housing to the people and recalled that the Congress made a similar promise in Gujarat but the people did not believe their lies.

He was extremely critical of the politics of the Third Party that has emerged on Delhi’s political landscape. Referring to that he said, “A respected person like Anna Hazare launched a fight against corruption and the nation looked up to him. But then what happened? Seeing the movement’s popularity some people developed political ambitions and due to their ambitions the movement was stabbed in the back. Those who did not belong to Anna ji, how can they belong to the people? Stay away from the people about whom you know nothing…all these are games running on the money of the Congress.”

Former BJP President Shri Nitin Gadkari spoke on the occasion. Present on the occasion were BJP’s CM candidate Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Shri VK Malhotra, Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and other senior leaders.
