"Shri Narendra Modi feels strongly for lack of concern towards the security of the common man"

Shri Narendra Modi on reading the revelation of security lapses that led to 26/11, in Former Union Home Secretary Ram Pradhanji’s interview, expressed strong concern at the apathy shown by the Central Government at verifying the hunch of the possibility of a mole in the Mumbai police.

“We had given sufficient information and suggested this matter be pursued and the mole identified as soon as possible. I do not know what happened to that,” said Ram Pradhanji, while further adding, “My question is why have we been tardy in identifying who was or who were the people who acted as moles? We had given this information within three months of the attack.” Shri Narendra Modi believes that early warnings and repeated reminders about the security lapse went unheard. Expressing his distress over the triviality shown in ensuring people’s security, Shri Modi tweeted,

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation today with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.

President Pezeshkian briefed the Prime Minister on the current situation in Iran and shared his perspective on recent developments in the region.

The Prime Minister expressed deep concern about the evolving security situation in the region and reiterated India’s consistent position that all issues must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

The Prime Minister highlighted India’s priority regarding the safety and well-being of Indian nationals in the region, including in Iran, as also the importance of unhindered transit of energy and goods.

The two leaders agreed to remain in touch.
