60th Republic Day Festival-2009
Godhara: Monday: Governor Shri Naval Kishore Sharma unfurled Trio on the morning of Republic Day at S.R.P. parade ground Godhara amid National Anthem by police band and dropping of flower petals from the Helicopter. Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi also joined Governor to review the parade and watched the impressive march past conducted by police force.
It may be recalled that the State level celebration of 60th Republic Day was held in Godhara district to enable people of the district to participate in the State level event. A series of cultural programmes including tribal dance, folk dance, garbas, and traditional Indian dance were presented by 508 students from various schools to mark the occasion. Attractive tableaux were presented by various Government departments depicting the theme of development schemes, and exquisite art and craft skills.
An impressive march past ceremony was conducted on the tune of police band, in which police force, women police, N.C.C cadets, Home Guards, GRD cadets participated. Horse show including tent pegging and jumping were the star attraction for the people of Godhara. Governor and CM warmly greeted the people of the district.
Prizes to the winners of the best platoons and tableaux were given away by Governor and C.M. The Chandrayan tableaux of Science and Technology department won the first prize, GSPC-Amrutmanthan won second prize and Forest and Environment department- Eco Tourism theme –won third prize for the attractive tableaux. For the impressive and remarkable performance in the parade, the Chetak platoon Commandos won the first prize, the second prize went to SRP Group Vadodara and the 3rd prize was won by NCC-30.
Chief secretary Shri D.Rajgopalan, Principal Secretary to C.M Shri K.Kailashnatahn, D.G.P Shri P.C.Pandey, M.P.s, M.L.As, eminent leaders, with other senior officials attended the celebrations.
