Golden Jubilee Mega Festival makes a golden mark in history

Gujarat Governor Dr.Smt.Kamla today inaugurated Swarnim Jayanti Mahotsav (Golden Jubilee Mega Festival) at Sardar Patel Stadium Ahmedabad. She said that the land of Gujarat is bejeweled with many Ratnas (Gems). Gujarat has given birth to many great leaders, who created history replete with their glorious contributions.

Swarnim Gujarat Mahotsav was inaugurated by the Governor in the august presence of Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Member of Lok Sabha Shri Lal Krishna Advani, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Smt Sushma Swaraj, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Shri Arun Jaitley, Chief Ministers of various States, Deputy Chief Ministers and eminent leaders. Gujarat Governor observed that today’s event is of immense importance for Gujrati community, it is truly a historic occasion. The fifty years journey in the life of a State is not considered to be a long period. It is also an occasion to reflect upon history, to take a glimpse on milestone achievements. The introspective process paves way for future progress and prosperity, surely offers inspirations and insights.

Governor remarked that the glorious era began, before five decades, with the blessings of Pujya Ravishankar Maharaj; the enchanting journey is laced with milestone achievements and breakthroughs, added Governor. She paid homage to Mahatma Gandhiji. Mahatma Gandhi preached truth, non violence and principles of luminosity, his teachings have relevance and value in the present era, enlightens the universe. Under his visionary leadership, India became independent, without shedding a drop of blood. Architect of united India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel belongs to Gujarat. He remains a fountain of inspiration for future generations.

Golden Jubilee Mega Festival opened to an overwhelming public response, Sardar Patel stadium was packed to its capacity.

Sardar Patel stadium was converted in to cauldron of cultural diversity. Original and congenial Gujarati music and songs pervaded the stadium mesmerized audience. Golden Jubilee Mega Festival made a historic mark in the history.

Ex. Deputy Prime Minister and M.P, Shri Lal Krishna Advani said, “It has been my proud privilege that I am representing Gandhinagar in Lok Sabha. Gujarat is fortunate to have visionary leader like Narendra Modi, who has burning desire to act upon his dreams. In a true sense, the celebrations have become people’s festival .It is not just an official function. Shri Modiji devotes credit of Swarnim Gujarat to the people.”

Fifty years since its inception, Gujarat stands out as one of the most progressive states, acclaimed nationally and internationally .On the occasion of Golden Jubilee, Chief Minister extended warm greetings to the people. With meaningful and purposeful contribution from people, Gujarat has scaled new heights, added CM. He said, “I deeply value contribution from all. It is also an occasion to express our gratitude towards martyrs of Maha Gujarat Movement.

We have to realize the dream cherished by Ravishankar Dada and Induchacha, the land belongs to Pujya Bapu. We are inheritors of the great legacy that we inherited from Sardar Patel. It is an occasion to renew our pledge and commitment People from the world over have come to participate in the golden jubilee festival. Gujarati Community spread over 50 countries and five continents have come to attend the event. The State government has identified 200 sectors. The state aims to act with full vigour to achieve golden goals, and to enhance the human development index for the poor. We have concentrated on 50 issues, in the next ten years. The state government is all set to mark 50 Golden-Landmarks in next 10 years. Common vision, common goal, common dreams, Gujarat has potential to fulfil golden goals. “

He inspired the youth to devote 100 hours of their time for Swarnim Gujarat. He outlined the theme of ‘Vance Gujarat’ and ‘Khelkud Mahakumbh”

The 5.5-crore Gujaratis ought to take one pledge, it would take Gujarat forward by 5.5-crore steps during the golden jubilee mega festival.

He exuded confidence that Gujarat is sure to reach such heights during the next 365 days which no one dare compete.

Prominent among those participated at the mega festival included Opposition leader in Lok Sabha Smt Sushma Swaraj, Opposition leader in Rajya Sabha Shri Arun Jaitley, Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from various states, former Central Ministers. Former Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Keshbhai Patel, present Ministers, MPs, MLAs, religious heads were also present.

World Leaders Congratulate Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Becoming India’s Longest-Serving Elected Prime Minister

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received warm congratulations from world leaders on the eve of his becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister of India. World leaders from across the globe paid tribute to Prime Minister’s transformative governance, his advocacy for the Global South, and his vision of an inclusive and economically dynamic India.

H.E. Anura Kumara Disanayaka, the President of Sri Lanka, in a letter dated 8 June 2026 addressed to the Prime Minister, conveyed the warm congratulations of the Government and people of Sri Lanka to him, stating: “This milestone is a testament not only to your years in office, but also to the trust and confidence that the people of the world’s largest democracy have repeatedly placed in your leadership.” The President also highlighted India’s remarkable economic and social transformation and noted that Prime Minister Modi’s vision has inspired many beyond India’s borders, including Sri Lanka. Prime Minister Modi visited Sri Lanka from 4–6 April 2025, his fourth visit to the island nation, during which he was conferred the Mitra Vibhushana, Sri Lanka’s highest civilian honour accorded to a foreign dignitary. The visit reaffirmed India’s Neighbourhood First policy, with Sri Lanka among the closest beneficiaries of India’s steadfast partnership, including India’s pivotal support during Sri Lanka’s economic difficulties in 2022.

H.E. James Marape, the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, in a personal video message, described Prime Minister Modi as “a role model and an example of leadership”. He also stated - “Lifting over 200 million people out of poverty to good life today is an amazing feat.” Prime Minister Marape expressed Papua New Guinea’s warm friendship and its desire to further consolidate bilateral ties. Prime Minister Modi’s historic visit to Papua New Guinea in May 2023, the first-ever by an Indian Prime Minister, for the Third Forum for India–Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC-III) Summit was a landmark moment in India’s engagement with the Pacific Island nations. The visit underscored India’s role as a committed partner of the Global South.

H.E. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, congratulated Prime Minister Modi on this occassion, noting that “under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has evolved as a leading voice on global matters.” She highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s journey from humble beginnings to leading a nation of 1.4 billion people across three terms, and underscored India’s significant achievements in foreign policy, economic growth, infrastructure, and socio-economic development. Prime Minister Modi paid a landmark visit to Trinidad and Tobago from 3–4 July 2025, the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 26 years, coinciding with the 180th anniversary of the arrival of Indian immigrants to Trinidad and Tobago.
