Gandhinagar, Thursday: French multinational sports company Oxylane Decathon Sports CEO Mr. Loic Lecomte and its Indian subsidiary CEO Mr. Michel Aballea met Gujarat Chief Minster Mr. Narendra Modi here today and offered to set up three Sports Villages in Gujarat.
The French MNC which h as entered as a sports retailer in 17 countries showed interest to set up the first Sports Village near Ahmedab ad for which they applied for a 20- acre land. It will create new opportunities, human resource development for sports, sports mega stores and sports products available elsewhere in the world, besides b asic infrastructure facilities.
The Chief Minister brief them about India’s biggest sports festival Khel Mahakumbha the pilot projects conceived for Sabarmati Riverfront and forthcoming Kankaria Lak Carnival and other activities being taken up to celebrate Swami Vivekanand’s 150th birth anniversary year as Youth Power Day from January 2012, Gujarat Sports University and Rakshashakti University.
The French MNC honchos praised Gujarat’s initiative and strategy to develop sports activities in the state.
Those present during the meeting included Chief Minister’s Secretary Mr. A.K. Sharma and Sports Secretary Mr. Bhagyesh Jha.
