CM meets high-level delegation from Argentina

On Monday 15th April 2013 a high level delegation from Argentina led by the Governor of the Mendoza province, Dr. Francisco Perez. The two leaders discussed strengthening cooperation between Gujarat and Argentina and signed 4 MoUs in various fields as well. 

The meeting with the delegation came on the day when Shri Modi inaugurated the new Minister’s Complex Swarnim Sukul-1. The meeting took place in the complex and Shri Modi expressed confidence that this meeting marks a new beginning in relations between Gujarat and Argentina.

Shri Modi spoke about the numerous similarities between Gujarat and Argentina and he also spoke about Gujarat’s Narmada Yojana, Rivergrid and Gas Grid Initiatives. Shri Modi invited the Argentina delegation to participate in 2014 Agro-Tech Festival and the 2015 Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. He also invited Argentina to be a partner with Gujarat in various fields such as Gas, Energy, Petroleum, Potash-Fertilizers, Tourism and iCreate education and research centre.

Dr. Perez also spoke about avenues like climate change, petroleum energy sector, healthcare among others where Gujarat and Argentina can strengthen cooperation. He pointed that this strengthening of ties between Gujarat and Mendoza, Argentina will go a long way in strengthening relations between India and Latin America.

Chief Secretary Dr. Varesh Sinha and other senior officials were present during the meeting.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, H.E. Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, today.

Emphasising the special and unique ties between India and Mauritius, the two leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to further deepen the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

They discussed the ongoing cooperation across a broad range of areas, including development partnership, capacity building, defence, maritime security, digital infrastructure, and people-to-people ties.

PM appreciated the whole-hearted participation of PM Ramgoolam in the 11th International Day of Yoga.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s steadfast commitment to the development priorities of Mauritius in line with Vision MAHASAGAR and India’s Neighbourhood First policy.

Prime Minister extended invitation to PM Ramgoolam for an early visit to India. Both leaders agreed to remain in touch.
