Reflecting on Gujarat’s remarkable development journey, he said the state has transformed from being known only for salt production to becoming a hub for semiconductors, metro coaches, railway engines, renewable energy and emerging aviation manufacturing. He credited the people of Gujarat and BJP workers for the state’s continued growth and progress.

Touching upon the Bengal elections, PM Modi said the results were being discussed across the country and the world. He noted that people from every corner of India were emotionally connected with the developments in Bengal and said the election reflected the aspirations of the people. He also noted the sacrifices of BJP karyakartas in Bengal and expressed confidence that the state would move ahead on the path of development.

Recalling the emotional significance of the Somnath Temple, PM Modi said the shrine symbolises India’s resilience, faith and civilisational strength. He remembered the vision and resolve of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in rebuilding the temple and paid tribute to Dr. Rajendra Prasad for inaugurating the restored temple despite opposition and challenges. He said the nation should take pride in this legacy and continue working to preserve India’s heritage.

The PM also reminisced about the sacrifices made over centuries and noted the historic importance of May 10, marking the beginning of the 1857 freedom movement. He said the spirit of Somnath reflects the courage, endurance and determination that continue to guide the nation forward.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today shared a photo of the Somnath Temple taken while on his way from Somnath to Vadodara.

The Prime Minister noted that on the shores of Prabhas Patan, the Somnath Temple stands tall as a radiant symbol of devotion, history, and civilisational spirit. Shri Modi highlighted that the eternal temple has outlasted barbaric attacks, invasions, and the passage of centuries.

The Prime Minister further stated that Somnath gives every Indian strength, courage, and hope.
