PM Modi addressed massive public gatherings in Krishnanagar and Mathurapur, delivering a sharp critique of TMC’s misgovernance while presenting BJP’s vision of development, security and women-led growth in West Bengal.

In Krishnanagar, PM Modi said record voting across states signals a decisive mandate for BJP-NDA, asserting that “4 May will mark BJP’s victory in Bengal… mithai bhi bategi aur jhalmuri bhi.” Taking a witty dig, he added that while he enjoyed jhalmuri, “jhal TMC ko lagi hai.”

He highlighted 15 years of “scams and broken promises” under TMC, pointing to failed commitments on schools, industries, piped water and healthcare. He noted that while the Centre delivered projects like AIIMS Kalyani, TMC continued to obstruct development.

Raising concerns over infiltration, he contrasted BJP’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” with what he termed TMC’s politics of appeasement. He assured Matua, Namasudra and refugee families of protection and reiterated that citizenship under CAA will be expedited once BJP forms the government.

The PM also announced 10 guarantees for women, including strict punishment for crimes, women police recruitment, Matri Shakti Bhorosha Card, Ayushman Bharat coverage, Mudra loans, Lakhpati Didi expansion and housing under PM Awas Yojana in women’s names. He reaffirmed, “Modi ki Guarantee yani guarantee poora hone ki guarantee” (read: Modi's guarantee, which means the guarantee will be fulfilled).

In the second rally of the day in Mathurapur, PM Modi contrasted BJP’s 11 years of development with TMC’s 15 years of “lies and betrayal.” He cited delivery of electricity to every village, crores of houses, toilets, Jan Dhan accounts, Ayushman cards and PM-Kisan benefits, while accusing TMC of failing on promises like Ghatal Master Plan, mega food parks and industrial growth.

Highlighting local challenges, he pointed to the lack of a permanent bridge to Gangasagar, recurring floods, weak embankments and misuse of central funds.

Targeting the syndicate culture, he described widespread “cut money” in jobs, land, ration and mandis.

Focusing on coastal development, PM Modi emphasised the untapped potential of the fisheries sector. He promised better infrastructure, cold storage, fish export hubs and modern technology support, while ensuring maritime security against smuggling and illegal activities.

He concluded by asserting that a strong wave of change is visible across Bengal, driven by women and youth, and that the state is ready to reject corruption, fear and syndicate raj for development and opportunity.
