April 14th, it was the last day for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tour of Germany. He was in Berlin and supposed to fly to Canada in the evening. The day began with a warm ceremonial welcome for the Prime Minister in Berlin. Chancellor Merkel herself received Shri Modi.

Afterwards, Prime Minister Modi and German Chancellor, Angela Merkel held a meeting. Shri Modi presented the German Chancellor with some manuscripts and papers by Sir C V Raman.  Sir C V Raman received the Nobel Prize in physics in 1930 for his work on scattering of light. Sir Raman performed most of his studies and experiments in India but had a strong connection with Germany.

PM Modi paid a visit to the Berlin Hauptbahnhof-the main railway station in Berlin. Having a tour around the entire station premises, the Prime Minister discussed several ways of modernisation and advancement of the Indian Railways. He was informed about the latest technological improvements.

He also met a group of young students waiting to meet him at the Berlin Hauptbahnhof.

Later the Prime Minister and the German Chancellor addressed a Joint Press Meet. PM Modi expressed his part of content for having hosted him warmly during his visit. He said that the ‘Indian Lion’ and the ‘German Eagle’ were great partners. PM Modi noted the enthusiasm of the German industry. Shri Modi thanked Chancellor Merkel and Germany for supporting and pushing the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Indian Government at the Hannover Messe.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also highlighted the great potential possessed by India considering that a lot could be learnt from Germany on part of ‘Skill Development.’ Shri Modi touched upon key areas of national safety and security. He once again strongly pitched for permanent membership in the UN Security Council, not just for India but for Germany as well.

Saying goodbye to Germany, PM Modi expressed great satisfaction upon strengthening of India-Germany ties. He even tweeted in German and welcomed the German industrial houses to ‘Make in India’, assuring them that business climate was transforming in the country.

Although he was in Germany, but the PM did not miss to wish the people way back in India on the occasion of various festivals. In the morning itself, Shri Modi extended his warm wishes taking to twitter. He even tweeted in five regional languages and greeted the Nation.

Shri Narendra Modi remembered Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary.

PM Modi to visit Republic of Cyprus, Canada and Croatia from 15th to 19th June

​At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will pay an official visit to Cyprus on 15-16 June, 2025. This will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Cyprus in over two decades. While in Nicosia, Prime Minister will hold talks with President Christodoulides and address business leaders in Limassol. The visit will reaffirm the shared commitment of the two countries to deepen bilateral ties and strengthen India’s engagement with the Mediterranean region and the European Union.

In the second leg of his visit, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Canada, H.E. Mr. Mark Carney, Prime Minister will travel to Kananaskis in Canada on June 16-17 to participate in the G-7 Summit. This would be Prime Minister’s 6th consecutive participation in the G-7 Summit. At the Summit, Prime Minister will exchange views with leaders of G-7 countries, other invited outreach countries and Heads of International Organisations on crucial global issues, including energy security, technology and innovation, particularly the AI-energy nexus and Quantum-related issues. Prime Minister will also hold several bilateral meetings on the side-lines of the Summit.

In the final leg of his tour, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Mr. Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister will undertake an official visit to Croatia on 18 June 2025. This will be the first ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia, marking an important milestone in the bilateral relationship. Prime Minister will hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Plenković and meet the President of Croatia, H.E. Mr. Zoran Milanović. The visit to Croatia will also underscore India's commitment to further strengthening its engagement with partners in the European Union.
