Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi has sternly criticised the activities, which are politically motivated and hurts the national spirit and aimed to malice the celebrations of national festival.

Chief Minister, in his address, said that the Independence festival is meant to redeem our pledge and commitment for the nation. This is an occasion to swell with national pride. No where in the country, except in Kashmir by terrorist, anyone has ever dared to defame the national festival. He regretted the activities mandated by power hungry elements. CM noted that those who do not endorse the Vanche Gujarat (Read Gujarat) mission, they are free to promote the books which matches their political ideologies.

CM questioned the mindset of such elements, which dampens the spirit of National Festival. Only the subversive and terrorist forces in Kashmir have registered their protest against the celebrations of national festival. Is it not unfortunate to associate with such forces? , asked the CM.

GHYAN PROBODHANI YATRA………

It is an interesting and potentially worthwhile idea, CM noted that our culture has withstood all the attacks; however, many other cultures and civilisation have vanished. He cited the reasons, “Our belief in knowledge is the route to the cultural progress, which has been constantly nurtured by Vedas, Puran, Mahabharat, Ramayana and Geeta. No power can ever destroy our culture.”

Under the read Gujarat Mission, CM today floated around 1000 books, appeared as if it was a sea of bliss to nurture the coming generations with knowledge. He made a suggestion to the publishers to reprint around 51 books, which are not available. He also stressed on the need to cultivate the culture of sports and reading among students. Shri Modiji, on the occasion, recalled the Granth-Yatra which had been taken out by Hemchandracharya in Patan.

Finance Minister inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp.

After flagging off the Yatra, Chief Minister presented Granth-Mandir to Rajkot Jail, Sterling Hospital, and Observation-Home for girls, Shri Ramnik Kunvarba Old-Age home & Special home for boys.
