Hon'ble CM credits 'team BJP', says his work won over false propaganda

Chief Minister Narendra Modi struck a humble note in his thanksgiving speech here as he attributed the party’s landslide victory in the municipal elections to “Team BJP”.

He told his winning team not to ridicule or belittle the vanquished Opposition in the aftermath of polls “irrespective of whatever they do to me”

“...I will deal with them in my own way,” he told his supporters at the party headquarters here.

He said the results proved that people had voted for security, peace and development instead of voting for false propaganda.

“I may not have a place in the media space but certainly ensconced in the hearts of the people... I will win over the media also in the coming days with love and affection because we want to serve this nation,” he said.

Telling workers to always keep the party above self-interest, he said the BJP was like mother to him and “no son can be bigger than his mother”.

He said the party owed the victory to its workers who played their respective roles, including himself, as assigned to them. Pledging to serve people with more vigour, he said the win also meant greater responsibility of meeting the rising expectations of voters and fulfilling their aspirations.

Speaking in Hindi, he said he chose the language to emphasise the significance of the victory that had nationwide importance.

Without naming the Congress, he said people were teaching them lesson after lesson but they were just refusing to learn.

On the announcement about the statue of unity, he said the people had a sixth sense with which they would catch the real intent behind what was being said.

In this context, he said the Opposition advertisement about a 10-headed demon had boomeranged on them. “We don’t release advertisements but simply address public meetings,” he said.

He said Muslims had voted for the BJP because they were convinced that not appeasement but development would bring about a turn in their lives.
