"Narendra Modi awards progressive farmers from various states for their exemplary work in agriculture and related fields"
On the first day of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Agriculture Summit 2013, Shri Narendra Modi attended the Kisan Panchayat at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. During the Kisan Panchayat Shri Modi honoured progressive farmers from various states of India for their exemplary work in agriculture and related fields such as horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, water conservation, apiculture, sericulture, agro forestry, dry/irrigated farming, value addition, green/net house and organic farming. Shri Modi felicitated the farmers with a cash prize of Rs. 51,000, a shawl, memento and a certificate. He also interacted with farmers of the other states.
