Canadian delegation donate $21,000 to Chief Minister’s Kanya Kelavni Fund for development of girls education in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Sunday: A 16-member delegation of Canadian Friends of India India-Canada Parliamentary Association on a courtesy call met Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi here today and discussed prospects of mutual partnership.

They presented a cheque of USD 21,000 as donation to the Chief Minister's Kanya Kelavni Fund for the development of girls' education.

Canadian Member of Parliament Mr. Patrick Brown, Mr. Mukund Purohit and other members of the delegation praised the leadership qualities of Mr. Narendra Modi.

Prime Minister condoles the passing of legendary playback singer S. Janaki Amma

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has expressed deep grief over the passing of distinguished playback singer S. Janaki Amma.

The Prime Minister said that her passing is an irreparable loss to the world of music and culture. He noted that her songs in various languages were popular across generations and gave voice to every emotion with unparalleled grace and versatility.

Shri Modi said that her melodies will continue to enchant listeners in the years to come.
