Former Union Finance Secretary, Hasmukh Adhia, recalled an instance when Narendra Modi had appreciated special quality of a peon and even brought it to his notice. The instance happened when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Hasmukh Adhia said that Narendra Modi has the ability to appreciate the good qualities in people. He recalled when one day, after meeting him, Adhia was about to leave, he pressed the bell and a peon came to pick up the files. But after the peon went out, what Narendra Modi told Adhia completely took him by surprise.
Adhia recalled, “He asked me if I knew this fellow (the peon). I said no. He said his name is Pratap. His handwriting is very beautiful. You ask him to write something for you. Whenever you have to write a beautiful invitation card, you can use him.”
Adhia said that he felt ashamed that being in senior positions too we sometimes don’t even know the names of peons around us while he is the Chief Minister of a state but he knows the personal quality of his peon also.
