The Ministry of Women and Child Development has recently allocated Rs. 272 crore from the Nirbhaya Fund to provide residential accommodation for girls and working women pursuing higher education at Delhi University. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat, which aims to empower women by providing safe and secure living spaces. The project will offer 1,000 beds equipped with enhanced security measures, CCTV surveillance, and gender-sensitive amenities, promoting a conducive environment for education and personal growth. The demand for the same was raised by female student attendees at the 'Viksit Bharat Ambassador' Nari Shakti Conclave at Delhi University on March 7, 2024.
