Vikist Bharat Ambassadors Make An Impact

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has recently allocated Rs. 272 crore from the Nirbhaya Fund to provide residential accommodation for girls and working women pursuing higher education at Delhi University. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat, which aims to empower women by providing safe and secure living spaces. The project will offer 1,000 beds equipped with enhanced security measures, CCTV surveillance, and gender-sensitive amenities, promoting a conducive environment for education and personal growth. The demand for the same was raised by female student attendees at the 'Viksit Bharat Ambassador' Nari Shakti Conclave at Delhi University on March 7, 2024.

Union Minister Smriti Irani took to Twitter to highlight the positive impact of the Viksit Bharat Ambassador events across India. She emphasised how these events acted as a platform for a two-way dialogue between citizens and policymakers, helping to turn demands into promises and concrete actions through #VBA2024 events.

Irani stressed the importance of becoming champions of change and how the government has responded with solutions that the people have sought. She described being a Viksit Bharat Ambassador not just as an emotion but as an active involvement and implementation on the ground and urged everyone to join the movement and be part of this transformative initiative.

Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, praised the proactive approach of the Government of India in promptly addressing students' needs and ensuring their safety and well-being.

The students from Gargi College who attended the #ViksitBharatAmbassador Nari Shakti Conclave at the University of Delhi on March 7 were pleasantly surprised by the swift decision-making of the Modi government in addressing their demands.
