The state of Gujarat has been organising the Vibrant Gujarat Summits for several years now. Who’s who of the global industry take part in every session of the summit to explore avenues of investment in the state. Swapan Dasgupta, former Rajya Sabha member and senior journalist, who went there for a couple of times, was surprised to witness a session on ‘Fishing in Canada’. The conversation he had with PM Modi on this was an eye opener for him.
Swapan Dasgupta says, “I saw a session on Fishing in Canada at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. I asked Modi Ji why would they even invest in Gujarat.” To this PM Modi replied, “I am making sure that small entrepreneurs, medium scale entrepreneurs who are brought in each day and they can choose whatever they want. I want to expand their minds. I want them to think that these things are also possible. Not necessarily that particular thing but expand their minds, give them that exposure, so that they can perform better in their things.”
Mr. Dasgupta says that not many leaders think about that as the main reason why Vibrant Gujarat Summits began. This incident clearly displays PM Modi’s vision and farsightedness.
