The Emerging Markets Forum (EMF) Global Meeting was held in Mumbai in June 2009.  The India 2039 study has shown that for India sustain long-term economic growth and social development, it must complete a transformation in governance. The Emerging Markets Forum study has shown Gujarat as a leader in “Minimum Government and Maximum Governance” and a leader in “Urban Management”.

The Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi gave a Luncheon address at the EMF Global Meeting on 25th June in Mumbai. Gujarat is a leader in economic growth and social development having pioneered successful governance reforms. The Hon. Chief Minister discussed the core principles behind the transformation in governance and the foundations of infrastructure and public services have been laid to secure empowerment, wealth, equality and inclusive growth for all.
