My Diwali is not complete without being with the soldiers: PM at Longewala Post
‘India has emerged as a forceful voice against forces of expansionism’
‘If we are tested, response will be equally fierce’
‘Today India hits the purveyors of terrorism in their home’

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, continuing his tradition of spending Diwali with the armed forces interacted and addressed the soldiers at the Indian border post of Longewala. He said his Diwali is complete only when he is with the soldiers whether in the snow-clad mountains or in the desert. He took the greetings, blessings and wishes of every Indian to the armed force personnels at the border. He also greeted the brave mothers and sisters and paid tribute to their sacrifice. The Prime Minister conveyed the gratitude of the countrymen to the armed forces and said 130 crore Indians are standing strongly with the forces.

The Prime Minister emphasized that only that nation is secure which has the capability to face the attackers and intruders. He said irrespective of advances in international cooperation and changes in equations, we simply can’t afford to forget that vigilance is the key to security, alertness is the basis of happiness, and strength is the confidence of victory.

Prime Minister Modi declared that India’s policy is very clear - Today’s India believes in understanding and explaining, however, if there is an attempt to test us, the response will be equally fierce.

He declared that today, the world knows that this country will not compromise at all on its national interest. This status of India is due to its valour and capabilities. India is able to forcefully hold forth on the international fora because of the security provided by the armed forces, India’s military power has enhanced its negotiating power, the Prime Minister said. Today India hits the purveyors of terrorism in their home.

India has come out as a forceful voice against the ideology of expansionism. Entire world is troubled by the forces of expansionism which is a mental perversion reflective of 18th century thinking, he said.

Referring to the stress on Aatmnirbharta and ‘Vocal for Local’, the Prime Minister said that recently it has been decided by the forces that more than 100 weapons and accessories will not be imported anymore. He complimented the armed forces for leading the way in being vocal for local.

Shri Modi called upon the youth of the country to produce for the armed forces as many startups are coming forward to meet the needs of the forces. He expressed the hope that youth-led startups in the defence sector will take the country forward on the path of Aatmnirbharta.

The Prime Minister said, inspired by the armed forces, the country is trying to save each and every citizen in the times of the pandemic. Along with ensuring food for the citizens, the country is working on putting the economy back on track.

The Prime Minister asked the soldiers for three things, first, make innovation part of their daily life. Second, make yoga part of their life and finally, learn at least one more language apart from their mother tongue, Hindi and English. This will infuse your life with new energy, the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister recalled the glorious battle of Longewala and said the battle will always be remembered in the annals of strategic planning and military valour. He said this was the time when the ugly face of Pakistan was exposed as its army was terrorizing innocent citizens of Bangladesh and committing atrocities on daughters and sisters. Pakistan opened the front on western border to divert the global attention but our forces gave them a befitting reply.

The party ruling Punjab neither has honest intent nor clean governance: PM Modi's sharp criticism
Punjab’s farmers, youth and entrepreneurs can make the state one of India's strongest growth engines. For that, Punjab needs a double-engine BJP government: PM’s promise
Punjab's youth have extraordinary talent. From the sports goods capital of Jalandhar, I want to tell every young person that this is the time to seize new opportunities: PM
BJP-governed states are delivering faster development, better welfare and stronger support for farmers and employees: PM notes in Punjab

PM Modi addressed a massive public rally in Jalandhar, Punjab, where he highlighted the transformation of India's railway infrastructure, outlined the BJP's vision for a Viksit Punjab and called for a double-engine government to unlock the state's full potential. He also spoke about the growing opportunities for Punjab's youth through India's emerging sports economy.

The PM said Indian Railways, which serves millions of poor and middle-class families every day, had long suffered neglect under previous governments. He noted that while earlier governments limited themselves to announcing new trains, the BJP government has focused on modernising railway infrastructure across the country. He said the newly inaugurated Jalandhar Cantt station, alongside other stations, reflects the vision of a Viksit Bharat while also celebrating Punjab's cultural heritage. He added that these stations are becoming centres of commerce by creating opportunities for local artisans, Vishwakarma beneficiaries and women SHGs. He also recalled that the BJP government renamed Adampur Airport after Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji and Chandigarh International Airport after Shaheed Bhagat Singh, honouring India's great icons.

PM Modi strongly criticised the Punjab government over law and order, corruption and misgovernance. He said rising gang wars, extortion, attacks on police stations and the growing drug menace have put Punjab's future at risk. He alleged that corruption and criminal cases involving leaders of the ruling party have eroded public trust, while funds provided by the Centre for roads, irrigation, markets and welfare have not been utilised effectively. He further stated that central schemes were being rebranded instead of being implemented honestly, adding that even the Ayushman Bharat scheme had been subjected to political branding.

Calling for a double-engine government in Punjab, the PM said the state has immense potential through its farmers, youth and entrepreneurs. Drawing comparisons with BJP-governed states, he said double-engine governments have accelerated development, strengthened welfare delivery and ensured better support for farmers and employees. He alleged that promises made to women in Punjab remain unfulfilled, while Congress and other regional parties remain occupied with internal politics instead of serving the people. He said only the BJP can bring lasting development, attract fresh investment, generate employment and make Punjab a stronger and more self-reliant state.

Addressing the youth, he noted Jalandhar's globally recognised sports manufacturing ecosystem and said it is at the heart of India's emerging sports economy. He said initiatives such as ‘Khelo India’ are creating new opportunities across sports manufacturing, coaching, sports science, sports medicine, universities, centres of excellence and sports startups. Referring to his recent visits to Australia and New Zealand, he said several agreements had been signed to strengthen India's sports ecosystem and encouraged Punjab's youth to seize these opportunities and make the country proud on the global stage.
