A three-day 'Kanya Kelavani' and 'Shala Praveshotsav' programme is to be held during 17-18-19 June 2010 in rural areas. Whereas programme for urban areas will be held during 24-25-26 June 2010.

The programme aims at primary education for all children between 6 to 14 years of age. Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi along with Cabinet Ministers, Secretaries to State Government, MLAs and high officials will visit places to push the drive.

Backward talukas with lower admission rate and higher drop-out rate will be given prime focus. People's participation will be encouraged to meet the goals of girl child's education.

Under this revolutionary 'Abhiyan' to be held during June in both rural and uraban layers, veterans will visit about five villages a day. Yoga will be demonstrated. Books for the children of the age group of 6 to 14 years will be put in circulation. Books under 'Vanche Gujarat' mission will be donated to schools. Children getting new admissions in std-1 will be welcomed and encouraged with 'kumkum-tilak'. Children dropped out will be readmitted. 'Prabhatferi' will move out in villages with songs and slogans. Vidhyalakshmi Bonds will be distributed and implementation of midday meal scheme will be assessed. The drive is set to achieve unprecedented success in ensuring primary education for all the children of the State.
