Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, while addressing the Gujarat Kensville Challenge Golf Tournament prize distribution ceremony at the Kensville golf course on Sunday, has said that the State Government has initialed 5 MoUs to develop private Golf Courses in Gujarat. The game of Golf is fast making inroads in Gujarat, also fosters the Golf Culture and Golf tourism.

Gujarat has emerged as a Global business hub and the International Golf Tournament, which has been held in Gujarat, affirms that the Golf culture in Gujarat is all set to scale new heights in the coming days.

After Delhi and Kolkatta Gujarat had had a privilege to organise International Golf tournament in the State-that too in the golden jubilee year. Around 46 national players had a chance to test their skills with the Golf players from 68 odd countries. Chief Minister felicitated the winners of Gujarat Kensville Challenge Golf Tournament-2011, Shri Gaganjeet Bhullar, Jane Mold and Met ford (Both from England).

CM expressed his resolve to set up Sports University in the State. The International Golf Tournament has positioned Gujarat on Global Golf Map, added CM.

Shri Samir Sinha, Managing Director Gujarat Kensville Golf Club, highlighted the different facets of International Golf Tournament which took place in collaboration with the country club. Spread over 160 acre, the club has around 600 members- they belong to Gujarat, Mumbai, Delhi, Rajasthan, and South -Africa.
