India will play a major role in bringing solutions to the crisis the world is facing:  Shri Narendra Modi

India is capable of becoming Vishwa Guru if 120 crore people and particularly 65% of its youthful population decide to do so: Shri Narendra Modi

Ahmedabad, Thursday: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today exuded confidence that India will play a major role in bringing the solution to the crisis the world is facing.

Releasing Bejan Daruwala’s book, titled ‘2012: The End of the World’ at a function here, he said that India is capable of becoming Vishwa Guru if 120-crore people and particularly 65% of its population of the youth decide so.

Describing the author as a dynamic person, Mr. Modi said that basics of astrology in India have been instrumental in revival of India. While the world is embroiled in a number of crises, he said that Indians have inherited from their ancestors the rich cultural traditions and solutions to problems likely to manifest in future.

“I am stranger to astrology, but I agree with Shri Daruwala’s observation that there are possibilities that India can bring solution to the problems, the world is facing at present. This is because the values, India has nurtured, during last many centuries,” Shri Modi said.

“The world is worried about global warming, but for us Indians, a life attached to nature was embedded in our tradition,” he said.

Shri Modi added, “Shri Jagdishchandra Bose told us that the trees had life, but our rishi munis used to speak about ‘Chhod me Ranchhod’ or ‘Paudhame Parmatma’.”

Shri Modi further said that “till the time, rivers were mother for us, everything was well, but when water turned into H2O, the problems began to arise.”

“Today Sun is considered as solution of energy crisis. But Surya Namashkar was part of our daily routine since generations,” Shri Modi said.

“The terminology ‘Global village’ is used frequently today, but Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam was part of our tradition suggesting that the entire world is one family,” he said adding that, “this means our country, our tradition offer solutions to the problems of the world. India has strength to rescue the world from crisis.”

“Even Swami Vivekananda spoke about ‘Jagat Janani’ status of India, while Shri Arvind identified the nation as Vishwa Guru,” Shri Modi said.

On this occasion, Bejan Daruwala in his characteristic humorous style read out his assessment of Mr. Narendra Modi as a leader and thinker.

The Chief Minister later took a round of the exhibition put up at the Kanoria Art Gallery.
