Shri Modi’s befitting reply to the gimmicks of Union Minister Kapil Sibal

Instead of cheap gimmicks, the minister should first inform the nation on his promise to provide Aakash tablet to 10 lakh youth in 2011! Writes Shri Modi on Twitter

In future, Mr.Sibal should make honest effort to ensure delivery of good quality Computing & Access device to our youth: Shri Modi on Twitter

On the afternoon of Sunday 30th September 2012, Shri Narendra Modi asked Union Minister to stop indulging in cheap gimmicks and instead focus on his promise of providing Aakash tablets to the youth as he had promised earlier. The Chief Minister was reacting to Mr. Sibal’s gimmick of sending him 2 Aakash tablets a few days ago.

Shri Modi Tweeted, “Instead of cheap gimmicks, the minister should first inform the nation on his promise to provide Aakash tablet to 10 lakh youth in 2011! He added,  In future, Mr.Sibal should make honest effort to ensure delivery of good quality Computing & Access device to our youth.”

He shared an article written by Mr. Ashok Parthasarathi, former scientific advisor to Mrs. Indira Gandhi to further illustrate his point. In a strongly worded piece, Mr. Parthasarathi wrote about the poor performance of the Aakash tablet and raised several questions violations related to it.

Earlier, on Teacher’s Day Shri Modi had spoken about the delay in the distribution of the Aakash tablet. He referred to this in the context of false promised being made constantly by Congressmen including in Gujarat.

"Kash (If only) this Aakash tablet could land on Earth, then the lie (promise of free laptops by state Congress) they (Congress) are spreading now would hold some weight," Shri Modi had said, adding that, “They (Congress) have turned away their faces from telling truth to the people. That's why I want to inform you what the truth is."

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra on 4th December, 2023. At around 4:15 PM, Prime Minister will reach Sindhudurg, Maharashtra and unveil the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort. After that, Prime Minister will attend the programme marking ‘Navy Day 2023’ celebrations at Sindhudurg. Prime Minster will also witness the ‘Operational Demonstrations’ by Indian Navy’s ships, submarines, aircraft and special forces from Tarkarli beach, Sindhudurg.

Navy day is celebrated on 4th December every year. ‘Navy Day 2023’ celebrations at Sindhudurg pays homage to the rich maritime heritage of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, whose seal inspired the new Naval Ensign which was adopted last year when the Prime Minister commissioned the first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.

Every year, on the occasion of Navy Day, there is a tradition of organising ‘Operational Demonstrations’ by the Indian Navy’s ships, submarines, aircraft and special forces. These ‘Operational Demonstrations’ provide an opportunity to the people to witness various facets of multi-domain operations undertaken by the Indian Navy. It highlights the Navy’s contributions towards national security to the public, while also heralding maritime consciousness amongst citizens.
