On Wednesday, 9th July Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated Amit Shah after he took charge of Bharatiya Janta Party as the President. Shri Modi praised Amit Shah and assumed that party would become stronger under his leadership. Shri Amit Shah was unanimously elected as the party President. On his twitter page, Shri Narendra Modi wrote," Amit Bhai started his journey as an ordinary Karyakarta & has repeatedly proven himself through tireless hardwork & determination."

Outgoing party President Shri Rajnath Singh made the official announcement of declaring Shri Amit Shah as the President. The Prime Minister thanked Shri Rajnath Singh and said that the party has reached new heights under his leadership.
