A Party colleague from Gujarat, Shri Parag Nayak, remembered the days when they had been preparing a ground for a camp to be organised in Uttam Nagar area of Ahmedabad. Everyone was measuring the huge ground by foot and that’s when Shri Modi suggested a unique idea.
This instance is from 1985, when the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had planned to organise a huge shivir (camp). Shri Nayak said that Narendrabhai asked us to stop measuring the ground by foot and instead take a jeep around to measure the distance. This took Parag Nayak and others by surprise as how could anyone get accurate measurement of entire ground using a vehicle!
Parag Nayak said, “Narendrabhai came and asked what we were doing. He suggested that we drive the jeep after setting the meter to zero to get the accurate measurement instead of walking and getting rough measurements. Such suggestions that he gave every time, they were so valuable, that we implemented those time and again.”
