Ahead of the last phase of Uttar Pradesh’s legislative elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting in Varanasi (Rural), Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi started his address by highlighting that it was Khajuri where the winning streak of the elections started for the BJP in 2014. PM Modi spoke on how different the elections in UP are this time around, he said that the Double engine Sarkar is asking for votes on the basis of non-discriminatory development in the state and an improved situation of Law and Order.

Hitting out at the opposition, PM Modi said, “There is a special habit of these ‘Pariwarvadis’. They do what they don’t speak and they don’t do what they speak. Instigating riots was not in their manifesto, they did the same. Illegal occupation and looting were not in their manifesto, this was their biggest achievement. Nepotism in schools, police stations, offices, exploitation of employees, this was not in their manifesto, but they worked diligently on it.” PM Modi further added that the people of Banaras are very smart to not fall for their traps and will continue to vote for the Double Engine Sarkar.

During the rally, PM Modi spoke on how far Kashi has been modernised with its cultural integrity intact throughout the stages of development. PM Modi said, “Adequate electricity, freedom from the network of tangled electric wires overhead, freedom from water scarcity, widening of roads, new highways, new bridges, new flyovers, the entire Varanasi district is on the path of change.” PM Modi said that through the PM KISAN scheme, 2.75 lakh farmers have got 450 crore rupees and further improving the lives of farmers, the government has started a Rice Research Centre, Cargo Centre, New Dairy Plant and a New Gobardhan Plant.

Also, PM Modi talked about the developed health infrastructure present in Kashi today. PM Modi said, “From eye treatment to serious disease like cancer, treatment is available in Kashi today and this treatment is also free for the poor because of Ayushman Bharat Yojana. This is the development that is visible today and is for everyone.”

PM Modi iterated how ‘Pariwarvadis’ fail to recognise India’s achievements and try to sabotage the efforts to develop India, PM Modi said, “We started Swachh Bharat Mission, built more than 10 crore toilets. The sisters of the village, poor, dalits, backward families benefited the most from this. The whole world praised India. But did you hear even once, praise for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan from these ‘Pariwarvadis’?”

PM Modi spoke on how India is adopting self-reliance through Vocal for Local. PM Modi added that many Banarasi products dominate the world markets and the benefit of this reaches the farmers, weavers, handicraftsmen, Vishwakarma companions of Banaras.

Highlighting the development of Khadi under the BJP government, PM Modi said, “Congress has played a lot of politics in the name of Khadi, created a lot of loot. But when Modi made Khadi an international brand, they now even avoid taking the name of Khadi today! If I talk about Banaras Mandal only, then 5 years ago, Khadi worth Rs 90 crore was sold here. Today it has increased to more than Rs 170 crore.”

Talking about BJPs vision for UP, PM Modi said, “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas is not just a slogan for BJP, it is our commitment. Moreover, there is the authenticity of giving the benefits of the government to every beneficiary, without any bias, without discrimination, it also has the resolution to give proper political representation to every region, every class, every fraternity. This spirit of national development with everyone's efforts is visible in both the party and the government.”

PM Modi finally addressed the participation of various sections of society in the political landscape of the country. He said, “From Panchayat to Parliament, from party to cabinet, the participation of women, Dalit, backward, tribal society is at an unprecedented level today.” The PM thanked all the personnel involved in the smooth functioning of the elections. PM Modi further added that after 10th March the work of development in all areas will continue with unprecedented pace with the efforts of Double Engine Sarkar.
