The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the orchid display and seasonal flowers exhibition, in Gangtok on January 18, 2016.
PM Modi named two Orchid varieties developed in Sikkim, Cymbidium Sardar after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Lycaste Deendayal after Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.

Shri Modi stated that the dedication of individuals in the maritime sector strengthens the nation’s economy, trade and connectivity.
