Addressing a campaign rally for Maharashtra Assembly election in Mumbai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “For us, the country is bigger than the party, and therefore, politics is the medium of service for us.” At the rally, the PM said that there is no stain of corruption on the BJP-led Central or state governments.

“We are BJP people, with Mumbai we have a connection of the womb as we were born here. Therefore, it is our natural responsibility to serve the people of Maharashtra,” he added furthermore.

The Prime Minister took a dig at previous Congress government of Maharashtra for allegedly indulging in scams and scandals during its tenure. He remarked that these were the same people who nurtured Article 370 and Article 35A for decades. "Due to this, terrorism and corruption increased in the valley. Several people were deprived of their rights but the Congress and its allies continued to do their self-interest politics,” he said.

Saying that Mumbai has been a victim of several terror attacks, PM Modi lashed out at the opposition and said why did they fail to take any step when every investigation revealed that terror attacks were being carried out from across the border.

Describing Mumbai as the city of opportunities, PM Modi asserted Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has provided a stable government in the state. The PM said the Fadnavis government focused on the city's growth unlike the previous corrupt Congress-NCP governments. He spoke about the several central government schemes which benefitted the people of the state. “We are trying to fulfill dreams of all, from farmers to those launching start-ups. Most of the services have gone online, reducing corruption," he said.

PM Modi urged citizens to vote on Monday i.e October 21 and not take a long weekend holiday. He concluded his address by raising a slogan saying, ‘Punha aanuya, aaple sarkaar’.
