Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted with Indian Community members in Doha, Qatar.

Addressing the event, Shri Narendra Modi said that India's stand at the global stage has been tremendously enhanced in the last two years. He remarked that India was fast changing because of the efforts of the 125 crore countrymen.

The Prime Minister stated that entire world today was excitedly looking at India because of the country's growth rate. Global agencies are in agreement that India is today the world’s fastest growing major economy, the Prime Minister said, adding that 7.9 per cent GDP growth has been achieved in the last quarter, despite the global slowdown.

Shri Modi mentioned that the Government of India was determined to eliminate corruption and bring much more transparency to governance mechanism. The PM also cited ways the Government was trying to curb corruption and leakages.

He said that his Qatar visit witnessed fruitful and comprehensive deliberations that will usher in a new era of strong friendship between the two nations. He expressed gratitude to the people and Government of Qatar for their exceptional warmth and hospitality during this visit.

Prime Minister announces ex-gratia from PMNRF

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of lives due to a mishap in Nanded, Maharashtra.

The Prime Minister conveyed his thoughts to the bereaved families in this hour of grief and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Shri Modi announced that an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office said;

“Saddened by the loss of lives due to a mishap in Nanded, Maharashtra. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.
