Interacting with beneficiaries of rural electrification, PM Modi said it was unfortunate that even after 70 years of independence, 18,000 villages lacked electricity. He attacked the previous UPA government for not being able to fulfill its promise of power for all by 2009. He mentioned how the NDA Government, not only focussed on electrification but also reformed the distribution systems across the country.
