The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today arrived in the Tent City at Dhordo, in the Rann of Kutch, for the three-day Conference of Directors General of Police. This is the second time that the Conference is being held outside Delhi. The Conference was held in Guwahati last year.

The Prime Minister attended the inaugural session of the Conference, which was addressed by Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh. The Prime Minister launched a website – “Indian Police in Service of the Nation.”

The Prime Minister, along with the Home Minister and other delegates, later left for the White Rann, a short distance from Tent City. He witnessed a camel show performance by the BSF. He witnessed sunset at the White Rann, followed by a cultural programme. Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, and Ministers of State for Home, Shri Kiren Rijiju and Shri Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary were present.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and the Prosperity Party on their decisive victory in the Ethiopian parliamentary elections.

The Prime Minister noted that India deeply cherishes its historic, multifaceted and deep-rooted ties with Ethiopia. Recalling his visit to Ethiopia last year, he expressed his desire to work closely with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali to further strengthen the India-Ethiopia Strategic Partnership and the bonds of friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Shri Modi posted on X;

Heartiest congratulations to my friend, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and the Prosperity Party for a decisive victory in the Ethiopian parliamentary elections.

India greatly cherishes its historic, multifaceted and deep-rooted ties with Ethiopia. I fondly recall my visit to Ethiopia last year and look forward to working closely together to further strengthen our Strategic Partnership and the bonds of friendship between our peoples.
