Shri Nehchal Sandhu, Deputy National Security Advisor and Secretary, National Security Council Secretariat, resigned from his position with effect from 31 July 2014 for personal reasons. Prime Minister accepted his resignation with regret and expressed appreciation for Shri Sandhu's outstanding service to the country in a career spanning over 40 years - as a police officer, Director of Intelligence Bureau and Deputy National Security Advisor.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today extended his warm greetings to the people of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura as the three North Eastern states celebrate their Statehood Day.
The Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt wishes to all brothers and sisters of the region and expressed hope that, through their own efforts, they achieve success in every sphere of life.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam highlighting the spirit of continuous effort and progress.
The Sanskrit verse-
conveys that one must keep moving and keep advancing, as only a consistently diligent person can taste the sweetness of progress, just as the sun tirelessly and endlessly illuminates the world with its energy.
Shri Modi posted on X;
