Over exploitation of Nature is the cause for Environment Destruction: Hon'ble CM

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi has said that the world needs development and progress, development is not the cause for environment destruction. But, over exploitation of natural resources is responsible for the harm being caused to environment. He appealed all to discard consumerist mindset. He was speaking at the Shashti-Purti function of Saint Shri Avichaldasji Maharaj.

CM made an appeal to cultivate habits that protects environment. It worth mention that under the inspiration of Pujya Avichaldasji Maharaj the devotees had taken out the Global Warming Awareness Drive, having massive participation from the volunteers.

Shri Modiji asked to revive the traditional game of inserting a thread in to the needle under the brightest full moon; he further asked to switch-off street lights on the full-moon day, which will save energy. Highlighting the need to mitigate global warming, he made insightful suggestions of saving energy and water. He elaborated upon the measures to keep pollution at bay. He made fervent appeal for undertaking a massive plantation drive. The step-wells ought to be maintained in its original beauty, added CM.

CM sought blessings from Pujya Avichaldasji Maharaj. He also gave compliments to Pujaya Maharajshri on the occasion of Shashti-Purti Mahotsav.
