We are not like those who distribute just papers. We first take decision on paper in the government and then come to you to declare it: Shri Modi

When we promised Sujlam Suflam Yojana our opponents asked where will Modi get money from. Today. It is a reality: Shri Modi

Creation of new Talukas help not only the new one but also the old one thanks to a relief in existing burden: Shri Modi

On Sunday 14th October 2012 Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi was felicitated by the people of Suigam in Banaskantha district for declaring a new Taluka. He was also honored at Kansa village in Patan district and Lakhni in Banaskantha district in the afternoon for declaring separate Saraswati and Shankheshwar talukas.

In his speech Shri Modi said, “we are not like those who distribute just papers. We first take decision on paper in the government and then come to you to declare it. The new taluka will be in existence from 26th January of next year.”

Shri Modi recalled how he had promised SujalamSufalam scheme and fulfilled it.

“I had promised SujalamSufalam scheme in year 2007, and our opponents were questioning that from where Modi would bring money to build the canals, but today SujalamSufalam is reality. Water is flowing, thanks to which the underground water level is up. The prices of lands have increased,” Shri Modi said.

The Chief Minister affirmed that the number of substations built in 4 years of BJP rule exceed the total number of substations built during 40 years of Congress rule!

The Chief Minister stated that the creation of one new Taluka would not benefit only a new taluka but in a way also help the administration of existing talukas, thanks to relief a in existing burden.

The decision to create Suigam, Saraswati and Shankheshwar Taluka was made by Shri Modi during the Vivekananda Yuva Parishad in Patan. The Saraswati Taluka will be created out of the Patan Taluka, Shankheshwar will be a new Taluka from the existing Sami Taluka and Suigam will be created out of Vav.

Cabinet Ministers Smt. Anandiben Patel, Shri Ramanlal Vora, Shri Jaynarayan Vyas and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

North Gujarat and Shri Modi: A bond that goes back deep in time

North Gujarat is a region that is extremely close to Shri Modi. It was in Vadnagar, in Mehsana District where Shri Modi was born and spent his formative years. During the Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra, Shri Modi often spoke about how he felt as if he is coming home when he visits North Gujarat and even the support the Yatra generated in North Gujarat was wonderful.

This was a region that was earlier famous for dust storms. Today, North Gujarat has been transformed itself as a hub for development in virtually every field.

Till a decade ago, one could never have imagined North Gujarat being known for agriculture but it is a farmer from Banaskantha district who created a record by producing 87 ton/hectare potatoes! Today agriculture is thriving in this region.

Earlier this year Shri Modi dedicated to the nation the country’s largest solar park that produce 600 MW solar power in Charanka in Mehsana District. Who could have imagined the barren lands of North Gujarat taking such a giant leap in providing renewable energy to our nation!

Industry has come in equal measure. North Gujarat will be home to India’s biggest food processing plant and Shri Modi envisions this region as a food-processing hub in its own right. If Gujarat is poised to becoming an auto hub, North Gujarat has a major contribution in this historic transformation.

Shri Modi’s decision to declare new Talukas has received phenomenal response across the people and will enable better administration at the local level for the people. Earlier, he was felicitated at Una for the creation of Gir-Somnath district.
