Prime Minister condoles the passing of Noted Kannada Author and Thinker, Shri S.L. Bhyrappa

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today condoled the passing of eminent Kannada Author and thinker Shri S.L. Bhyrappa, describing him as a towering stalwart who stirred the nation’s conscience and delved deep into the soul of India.

The PM remarked that Shri Bhyrappa’s contributions to Indian literature, especially in Kannada, have left an indelible mark on the intellectual and cultural landscape of the nation. His fearless engagement with history, philosophy, and social issues earned him admiration across generations and geographies.

In a post on X, he said:

“In the passing of Shri S.L. Bhyrappa Ji, we have lost a towering stalwart who stirred our conscience and delved deep into the soul of India. A fearless and timeless thinker, he profoundly enriched Kannada literature with his thought-provoking works. His writings inspired generations to reflect, question and engage more deeply with society.

His unwavering passion for our history and culture will continue to inspire minds for years to come. My thoughts are with his family and admirers in this sad hour. Om Shanti.”

ಶ್ರೀ ಎಸ್.ಎಲ್. ಭೈರಪ್ಪ ಅವರ ನಿಧನದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಕದಲಿಸಿದ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾರತದ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಧೀಮಂತ ವ್ಯಕಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ನಾವು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಿರ್ಭೀತ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಲಾತೀತ ಚಿಂತಕರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಅವರು, ತಮ್ಮ ಚಿಂತನಶೀಲ ಕೃತಿಗಳಿಂದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಬರಹಗಳು ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಚಿಂತಿಸಲು, ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಆಳವಾಗಿ ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದವು. ನಮ್ಮ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರ ಅಚಲವಾದ ಉತ್ಸಾಹವು ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಜನರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ದುಃಖದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಸಂತಾಪಗಳು. ಓಂ ಶಾಂತಿ.

Prime Minister shares Sanskrit Subhashitam highlighting the importance of grasping the essence of knowledge

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today shared a profound Sanskrit Subhashitam that underscores the timeless wisdom of focusing on the essence amid vast knowledge and limited time.

The sanskrit verse-
अनन्तशास्त्रं बहुलाश्च विद्याः अल्पश्च कालो बहुविघ्नता च।
यत्सारभूतं तदुपासनीयं हंसो यथा क्षीरमिवाम्बुमध्यात्॥

conveys that while there are innumerable scriptures and diverse branches of knowledge for attaining wisdom, human life is constrained by limited time and numerous obstacles. Therefore, one should emulate the swan, which is believed to separate milk from water, by discerning and grasping only the essence- the ultimate truth.

Shri Modi posted on X;
