During a public meeting at Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his address by thanking the people of Tamil Nadu and saying that being with all of you is a great pleasure. “This Kongu region of Tamil Nadu represents India’s growth story in many ways. It is one of India’s most vibrant textile and industry hubs. It also contributes to our country’s wind energy capacity. This region is also known for its spirit of enterprise. Our risk-taking entrepreneurs and MSMEs play a role in making us the fastest-growing economy,” said PM Modi.

The Prime Minister outlined a bold vision for the state’s development in 2024. Addressing a diverse audience, PM Modi highlighted Tamil Nadu’s pivotal role in shaping the politics of development and ushering in a new era of progress for the nation. He said, “In 2024, Tamil Nadu is garnering the most attention today because Tamil Nadu is poised to become the new center of politics of development, the politics of a new era in the country. In 2024, Tamil Nadu is set to create a new history.”

PM Modi emphasized the significance of Tamil Nadu in the upcoming political landscape, declaring it as the epicenter of the politics of development and a catalyst for change in the country. He underscored the historic significance of the ‘En Man En MakkaL’ (I am one, I am the people) march, citing it as a testament to the unwavering support of Tamil Nadu’s citizens towards a brighter future.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response received during the ‘En Man, En MakkaL’ journey, highlighting the resonance of its message among the people of Tamil Nadu. He commended the dedication of BJP workers in serving society with the ethos of Nation First, emphasizing the inclusive approach of the party towards all sections of society.

“I have also witnessed how every section of society has shown their support and blessings for the BJP during this journey. I especially congratulate our young and energetic colleague, Annamalai. He has taken the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayaas’ from this journey to every home,” PM Modi said.

Reflecting on his connection with Tamil Nadu, PM Modi reminisced about his interactions with the state’s rich culture and heritage. He reiterated his commitment to the welfare of Tamil Nadu, rooted not in political agendas but in genuine empathy and respect for its people. He said, “My connection with Tamil Nadu is not political but from the heart and decades old. The soil of Tamil Nadu has always given me boundless love. The ‘En Man En MakkaL’ journey is taking Tamil Nadu on a new path.”

PM Modi emphasized the BJP government’s steadfast commitment to Tamil Nadu’s development, citing significant allocations of funds for various developmental projects. He contrasted this with the lack of priority given to Tamil Nadu’s development by previous governments, highlighting the disparity in resource allocation.

“Those who looted Tamil Nadu for decades are now nervous about the growing strength of the BJP. They want to save their seats by lying, dividing the people, and creating conflicts among them. However, the people of Tamil Nadu are not only pure-hearted but also wise. Their truth has come to light. Their true colours have been revealed. That’s why now the people of Tamil Nadu continue to trust the BJP,” said the Prime Minister.

Highlighting the transformative initiatives undertaken by the BJP government, PM Modi emphasized the ‘Modi Guarantee’ for every citizen, ensuring free grains, smoke-free households, and housing for rural families. He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the poor and marginalized, exemplified by initiatives such as the PLI scheme and Mudra loans. He said, “Over the last 10 years, the BJP government has allocated significantly more funds for development projects in Tamil Nadu than before. And remember, the DMK and Congress have been allies for a long time.

PM Modi paid tribute to iconic leaders such as MGR and Jayalalithaa, acknowledging their enduring legacy and contributions to Tamil Nadu’s progress. He urged BJP workers to uphold the values espoused by these leaders and to tirelessly work towards realizing the vision of a developed Tamil Nadu.

Highlighting the Congress and the INDI Alliance’s intentions, which pushed Tamil Nadu back, PM Modi said, “The opposition parties that are currently dominating Tamil Nadu will never let Tamil Nadu develop. Did the Congress, which indulged in thousands of crores of defense deals, ever allow the formation of defense corridors in Tamil Nadu? Today, when the country is exporting multiple times in the defense sector, providing employment to youth, would the Congress have allowed this to happen? We have initiated the PLI scheme for the textile industry. As a result, investment proposals of around 20,000 crores have come forth. Turnovers of nearly 2 lakh crores are expected.”

“Today, the BJP is talking about building a developed India in its third term in government. The BJP, in its third term, is talking about making India the third-largest economy. But on the other hand, there are people united under the banner of the Indi Alliance, solely fueled by hatred for Modi. Have you ever heard any of their parties talk about development, the economy, industry, or education? Their only concern is how to keep their family businesses running. By promoting their families, they have hindered the development of every youth in Tamil Nadu, said PM Modi, underlining the INDI Alliance’s game of vote bank and family politics.

During his Concluding remarks, PM Modi reiterated the BJP’s commitment to ending the politics of corruption and fostering inclusive growth in Tamil Nadu. He called upon BJP workers to tirelessly propagate the party’s vision and principles, ensuring its reach to every household in the state.
