Congress has kept the Tea Garden workers in neglect for years. BJP govt has taken all steps for Padhai, Kamai & Dawai of the Tea Workers: PM Modi

Continuing his election campaigning spree, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting in Bokakhat, Assam. He said, “It is now decided that Assam will get 'double engine ki sarkar', 'doosri baar, BJP sarkar’, ‘doosri baar, NDA sarkar’.

“Today I can respectfully say to all our mothers, sisters and daughters sitting here that we have worked hard to fulfill the responsibility and expectations with which you elected the BJP government,” he added.

The 'double engine sarkaar' of the NDA government ensured the availability of free gas cylinders, LPG, electricity and free healthcare to the people of the state, he said while attacking the Congress government. “During Congress' reign, the main question was to save the loot of Assam from Congress.
Under the NDA, Assam is heading to touch new highs,” the PM said.

Under the NDA government, Prime Minister said the NDA government saved the rhinos of the state that the earlier Congress-led government failed to do. The NDA government has put the rhino hunters in jails. We are working on both safety of animals as well as facilities for the people of Assam.

“All our sanctuaries, including Kaziranga, are our heritage, our responsibility towards the environment and also the means of livelihood. I am happy that the forest area in Assam has increased in the last 5 years,” he added.

Listing developmental schemes undertaken in Assam, PM Modi shared that in the last 5 years, Assam had witnessed a growth in forest cover. It increased the opportunities for tourism and economic activities. We wanted India to be included in one of the leading nations in natural, spiritual, cultural and heritage tourisms, and Assam has all of this.

“More than 90 years ago, the British had made a law and put Bamboo in the category of trees. This law prohibited the transportation, cutting of bamboo grown on private land. Even after independence, this law existed for 70 years. Because of this, farmers, traders, bamboo industries had to face many problems. Our government understood your problems and changed this law. Its huge benefit has been to the people associated with the Bamboo Craft in Assam, to the farmers, to the entrepreneurs,” PM Modi shared.

Hitting out at the opposition, PM Modi stated, “In Congress Raj, the question was how to increase the connectivity between the two sides of the Brahmaputra? Modern bridges are being built on the Brahmaputra during the service of NDA, old incomplete bridges are being completed.”

Addressing the rally, Prime Minister Modi asserted, “When Congress was in power at the Centre and in Assam, there was double negligence and double corruption. You have to remember that Congress means instability, corruption. They have no vision or intention to do any good.”

He exuded confidence of a clean sweep in upcoming assembly elections, said, “Seeing the massive crowd in today’s meeting, I am sure that we are winning the elections in the state of Assam.”
