Chief Minister Inaugurates Kankariya-Carnival-2009 and Balotsav

City is a recurrent motif, Inaugurating Kankariya-Carnival -2009 and Balotsav, Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi said, “Citizens of the town have tremendous potential and strength to enkindle cultural soul in to city-life. Kankariya-Carnival has established such an image.”

Depicting the richness and glory of Ahmedabad, week-long Kankariya-Carnival would be celebrated as ‘Balotsav’.

Today is also the birth-day of our former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Chief Minister Dedicated a ‘Sari-Sarpa-Gruha’ at Kankariya-Zoo, and he also inaugurated B.R.T.S. Jan-Marg linking Kankariya and Chandranagar.

Catching on a crowd explosion desiring to glimpse the glory of Carnival, Ved-Rucha and Shloka recitation by children had instilled divinity in to environment. Children had performed ‘Surya-Namaskar’.

Like winged rainbows, with a flow of creativity, our future generation has tremendous strength and potential to enkindle cultural-soul in to it, during the celebrations we would come to realise it. Last year we had dedicated Kankariya in a new shape to the citizens. Chief Minister mentioned it with pride that citizens have maintained the beauty, tidiness and glory of it. Chief Minister had also expressed his gratitude towards the citizens; he also took note of their devotion to their duty. Around 60 lakh people have visited the Kankariya lake Front during the year, but the dignity and glory of lake has remained undamaged. We have capacity to preserve our cultural-heritage, added C.M.

Chief Minister detailed the milestone achievements of Gujarat, out of the 8 Awards given away by Indian Government; Gujarat has won 5 Awards for its best contribution in Urban-Development. Jan-Marg public transport services have also won the prestigious award.

He observed that Jan-Marg Public transport system is the right step for saving mankind from the adverse impacts of global-warming; he made an appeal for maximum utilization of public transport system.

He gave compliments to children for splendidly presenting Surya-Namaskar, and the authorities for the “Sari-Sarpa-Gruh’ and on completion of Jan-Marg routes.

Speaker of the Assembly, Shri Ashokbhai Bhatt said, “Kankariya Lake finds proud mention in our history. Chief Minister’s visionary initiatives have given it a global-image. It has really become a symbol of cleanliness. “

Ahmedabad Mayor Kanaji Thakor delivered welcome address. He outlined the focal-theme of Kankariya-Carnival.

M.P. Dr Kiritbhai Solanki also addressed the gathering.

Artists had mesmerized the audience with their scintillating performances.

Revenue Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel, Minister Shri Fakirbhai Vaghela, M.P.Shri Harin Pathak, Shri Surendrabhai Patel, MLAs, Deputy Mayor Dr Kalpanaben Bhatt, Standing Committee Chairman Shri Asit Vora, eminent leaders, office bearers were among the others who attended the function.

Prime Minister pays homage to Adi Shankaracharya

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, paid tributes to one of India’s greatest spiritual luminaries, Adi Shankaracharya, on his Jayanti today. Shri Modi remarked that his profound teachings, thoughts and philosophy of Advaita Vedanta continue to guide innumerable people globally. And his efforts to revitalise spiritual thought and establish spiritual centres across the nation remain a lasting inspiration."May his wisdom continue to illuminate our path and strengthen our commitment to truth, compassion and collective well-being", Shri Modi added.
