As
hadhi Bij Mahotsav is celebrated as New Year of Kutchchi people. Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi shared the glory of celebrations. Addressing the concluding session of celebrations, he said, “Kutchcha is going to emerge as a solar energy hub of state. New era of solar energy has begun. Kutchcha is also witnessing a development tide in the recent time. Soon it would find a new identity by carving out a development niche for itself.”
Vishva Kutchchi Ashadhi-Bij Mahotsav Samitee has been celebrating the festival since last ten days.
When the
Badshah of Sindh attacked Kutchcha in 1762, around one lakh ‘Kutchci-Madus' gave supreme sacrifice, they had laid down their lives safeguarding our motherland. In the fond memory of martyrs, people gather at the memorial to pay tributes to the martyrs
. On the occasion, Chief Minister invited family members and heirs of the martyrs, and also the martyrs of first battle for freedom -1857 -to honour them.
On the
Veer-Bhoomi, people of Kutchcha, belonging to all the communities had displayed admirable strength of unity. They gave supreme sacrifices for cause of motherland.
Shri Narendrabhai Modi dedicated 71 check-dams. On the occasion, Chief Minister enumerated sacrifices of great leaders and freedom fighters. Freedom fighters gave everything they had; they laid down their lives to attain freedom, during freedom struggle from 1857 to 1947. People of Kutchcha are very dynamic. They can contribute a lot in nation building and in its development, added C.M.
Cultural identity and spirit of Kutchcha is really admirable. To avoid distressed migration, State government has taken concrete measures. State has involved people of the region, residing any part of the world to join hands with government in its development initiatives. Chief Minister presented the theme of development.
In ancient age, Kutchcha used to enjoy eminence in agriculture, commerce and ports. Chief Minister stressed that we should not disown our historic legacy and cultural roots. He had also highlighted the development taking place in the region. Farmers have adopted drip irrigation methods. Since 2002, Gujarat has been No-1 in agricultural with consistent growth rate of 9.6% per annum. We have created history in water conservation, by launching a drive for blue revolution, constructing number of check-dams.C.M.awarded prizes to the winners of the programme.
Finance Minister of Madhya Pradesh government and son of Kutchchi soil, Shri Raghavjibhai Savala, First Woman pilot Pujaben Aahir, Shri Vijaybhai Chheda of Sarvoday Trust-Bidada- Vinishbhai Soni- Prabhaben Popat-Rameshbhai Daru- Dilavarsinh Rathod, Muljibhai Pindoriya of Hindu Council-Kenya, Haji Sale Mohammad, Arjanbhai Vekariya, and family members who took part in 1857 freedom struggle were honoured by Chief Minister. Heir of Bahadurshah Jafar, Ashrafkhan Ullaskhan of Navabshana family, Hargovind Dhingara of Madanlal Dhingara family, Member of Nana Saheb Peshwa family, Arunaji Zansivala from Rani Lakshmibai family, Himali Savarkar from Shahid Savarkar family, Yadavendrasinh from Bhagatsinh family, Mahendrasinh Tiwari, Thakur Hargovindsinhaji from Nara, Punjaji Thakor, Lodhiajee from Mohammad Lodhiajee family, Satyandresinhji –Vinzan Jagirdar are among those who were felicitated by C.M.
Minister Shri Narottambhai Patel, Minister of State Shri Vasanbhai Aahir, M.P. Punamben Jat, Former M.P. P.S.Gadhvi, and MLA s were among the others who attended the ceremony. Chairman celebration committee Shri Anantbhai Dave felicitated the Chief Minister. MLA Shri Jentibhai Bhanushali delivered welcome address.
